[Here is what Joe Biden had to say about filling SCOTUS vacancies.  And the record here shows that no liberal has explained why this time is so different that the Senate should not continue to follow the advice of our VP and several of his prominent Democrat colleagues.  We expected crickets, and they have spoken.  gjr]

Don, are you smoking crack? Measure S was all about growing outdoors except for people who lived in residential neighborhoods – and we encouraged those people to let cultivators on AG parcels grow for them. Twelve indoor plants (grown under one 1,000wt light) cannot possibly produce enough medicine for any patient and I defy you to prove otherwise.

Excuse me, but a child died in Penn Valley in January from epilepsy. All of you who say, “I support patients, but I don’t want marijuana grown near me” should think about this for one minute. What if it were your child? Think you might have a difference of opinion then?
And if that hurts my credibility, what does it do to yours??

You need to demonstrate that the actions of the B of S in Nevada County directly led to the death of that child.

So you are saying that a close contested primary means you can’t win the general? You win, of course, by taking the 6 or so states that actually matter.
It’s probably worth looking at the Democratic 2008 primaries to see how someone can win the general after a close run affair in the primaries. That was a textbook case of the modern political landscape. These days, someone with a light (or no) resume who is a good reader of pre-written speeches can become Emperor of the World via a good TV presence, a healthy dose of luck, and an excellent marketing campaign.
The end game will be when Christopher Matthews gets a tingle up his leg when President Max Headroom takes office.

If you include Puerto Rico, In 2008 Hillary Rodham Clinton garnered more popular votes in the Dem primary than Barrack Hussein Obama, yet Obama won the nomination.
So much for a close contested primary having no bearing on the general. Historically, that is hogwash.
The flaw in jon’s argument is basically counting Republicians only. How many times has the dear reader heard “I am a conservative, not a Republican”, or ” I do not like the Republican Party all in all, but it is the vehicle that aligns best with my worldview.” Both the Dems and Republicans fail to hold 50% of the registered voting populace, less and less as each year passes.
Trump is redefining what the Republican Party is, just as Geoge W Bush did (as well as Obama) for better or worse. The labels Democrat or Republican are constantly being redefined by the de facto heads of the RNC and DNC respectively, aka, the President.
A lot of people say they cannot bring themselves to vote for Trump or Hillary. So, with the current front runners of each Party unable to pass the “hold your nose and vote” test at this moment in time, it appears all is chaos and the world is going to hell in a hand basket. Hey, that is exactly what primaries are all about. Internal in-fighting and rebellion and sorting it all out within each party. In the end they always come to a consensus.. Nothing new under the sun, albeit in our narrow views it seems like mayhem and the end of America as we know it at the time.
Jon, do not forget they said the same thing about Reagen. Yes, Trump is no Regean with a 15 year of conservative beliefs before running for the Big Prize, but still was considered unbeatable against an incumbent president. Doom, doom if Ronald Rayguns wins the nomination. People will move to Canada.
What Trump is counting on is the blue collar “Reagen Democrats”, the huge percentage of self proclaimed independents who appear breaking to the right more than the left, and the current throw the bums out mood of the entire electorate. Add to the mix a weak and piss poor likely opponent being offered up the DNC and you have an opening for Trump to win come November. Not a sure bet by any means, but a foot trail through the woods nonetheless.
In the mean time, keep beating the tried and true drumbeat of the DNC: Don’t look at our gal, look at the racist intolerate and intolerable Republicans. Don’t vote for our candidate, vote against the evil extreme far far far far right wingnut Republicans! Works like a charm…but 2016 may make the tried and true seem so yesterday.
People want the economy fixed, want to be secure, and are sick and tired of America being treated like the redhead bastard stepchild by our politicians. That is another foot trail through the woods and into the light.

Patty, patients are getting thrown under the bus because in real life, it ain’t about patients as such where the rubber meets the road. it’s about using a MMJ patient exception to open the floodgates to grow with abandon by those who don’t give a hoot about patients
. The growers wanted and received a loophole to grow pot for profit and call themselves legit. The growers did not like being called illegal and got tired of that paranoid life, especially watching a helicopter in the skies. Gets to the lawbreakers nerves.. Now ,their “legit” status has been revolked. It’s too bad that the small number of patients are being hurt by the majority of those who grow weed with thinking about how their actions affect patients. Greedy self centered bastardized they are.

The bottom line is that the Board is using the hammer of the Government to engage in a culture war. The “locked in stone” argument against Measure S will haunt them in the Jund election. There is a huge backlash agaisnt this from retail business in GV and NC because they are quite aware of their bottom line and the percentage of sash business that comes their way. I challenge any supporters of W to go door to door in GV and NC and ask them what they think of this. W will surely lose and the Supes will regret they ever put it on the ballot.

While going door to door, asked the business owner if they allow RMJ on the job, do they allow staff to be high while dealing with customers. Ask the local manufacturers do they allow MJ used on the job? All business with Federal contracts are required to have a drug free workplace. Hard to run a business in Nevada County with Federal contracts when the majority of potential workers in the community have MJ in their systems, according to a high-tech CEO in a presentation to the Economic Resource Council.

You’ve bought into the Dem party line talking points and divisive mud slinging and please, don’t take this as even a hint of an endorsement of any Republican in the race except, perhaps, Kasich, and not much of one for him, either. It’s clear to me that a big Klan turd was thrown over and over until it hit the fan and splattered into a hundred talking points about how Trump hadn’t denounced Duke, whose ‘endorsement’ Trump made clear he had not heard or read, to the questioner’s satisfaction.
Guilt by association is a fallacy… this is guilt by disassociation. Neither Trump or anyone else in the GOP in any real role has any doings with Duke, whose claim to fame is one accidental term in the Louisiana legislature a quarter century ago (to their credit, the people of LA managed to avoid repeating that one) and a bunch of self promotion since. If it wasn’t for a press corps eager to hang Duke on Trump, no one would have paid any attention to Duke.
This all about the branding of the GOP as the party of lynchings, which it is not now and has never been, in order to drive the oblivious into the DEM voting booth. The danger to DEMs is that it doesn’t stick and further erodes the enthusiasm by DEM voters in the Fall and the danger to the country is that it just throws more fat into the flames.
George B, there’s no there, there. Shame on you.

Not true. It certainly is that same party in Dixie, the Deep South, where the Dem Party participants and constituents progressively turned to today’s GOP after 1964. Accelerated under Atwater, solidified in the 90s. Read and learn about Senator Jefferson Beauregard Sessions and you’ll see the modern embodiment of that old legacy of hatred.

To us Trumpmaniacs, nothing will stick. We don’t care. We want to win, not win an argument.
Personally I think Trump is a moderate. No one from the Iron Workers, to the electricians to the nail pounder’s unions have a bad thing to say about him or doing work for him. Tells me he does whatever it takes to get his jobs done. He ain’t a union buster nor is he going to send goons out to crack heads of those working for Planned Parenthood. We want a few things to get done, not talked about. One is security, foreign and domestic. Another is economic nationalism as much as one can expect in the Global Economy. We are about 1/4 the way there to crush PC speech and wipe it off the map. PC kills any honest dialogue, skewers an honest assessment of problems, and thus constrains agreements, disagreements, and hinders real solutions to real problems. Anything else is just gravy
    .
We right to lifers don’t even care about the issue this time around. Courts already decided that long ago. Balanced budgets are even negotiable. Nothing you can say will stick because we have our eyes on the prize, whether we like Trump or not.
Even William F Buckley said basically winning trumps everything he was trying to do. After following the party line and voting for Sen. Dole, McCain, Romney, and George H W Bush, I am tired of these good men, devoid of passion and are all losers. Party likes Rubio? Tough shit. Party had never figured out how to grow the base since Reagen. They have talked a good conservative game and governed as if being liked by Dems is the higher calling. Screw them.
This is the new Republican Party and Trump is doing what no other elitist focus group taking pol had done. Trump is expanding the base, all by himself.
Millions wish Trump would not be such a bombastic quick to retaliate cad. I say nonsense. That is his power, his draw. Tell it like it is, Trump, and don’t change. Tell me if you become president you will build a wall and have the Justice Department send Hillary to prison. Tell me again that so and so is a liar, a bad person. Do not listen to those who smile yet hate your guts. I hope Trump never becomes like them….”them” talk with forked tongue and have lying down to perfection. Give them hell, Donald, and take no prisoners. Stay unique and curse, offend, hit back hard with lethal force when attacked, and bring home the bacon. Win one for the Gipper!…ok, that last one was a little melodramatic,
The losers are full of advice. Their advice to Trump is to be more like them….losers.
