A couple of quick points to which we’ll add later.

Hillary in an orange jumpsuit?  That was never supposed to happen if we recall our liberal cadres here assuring us that her email imbroglio was a baseless Republican dust devil that would soon be forgotten.  At a lunch today with people who have also held TOP SECRET and above clearances, all of us wondered how meticulous Comey will want to be before sending the very large stack of condemning evidence to the DoJ that the FBI has now dug up.  Her denials about not having anything on her servers marked classified has now become thin gruel in the public media.  Only the leftwing know-nothings still deny that her sins range from a minimum of hubristic criminality to something closer to treason.  Preparing for the inevitable, Democrats in the wings contemplating the race are beginning to form a line.  [29jan16 photo added]

Hillary_160129

The State of Jefferson movement (I prefer North California) was supposed to be dead and buried, especially in Nevada County, according to the usual platoon of progressive pundits.  Well, Mr Eddie Garcia of the SoJ Steering Committee sent out an email today proudly announcing that there are now more than 5,500 signatures on the petition requesting our county’s BoS to put the SoJ proposition on the ballot.  This would let all Nevada County citizens express their opinion about their desire to see this movement for California’s minority values and legislative representation proceed.  I wonder what message we will hear from our local Left about the prospects for passage of such a proposition.  Well, actually I don’t wonder at all.

Eddie Garcia writes –

TOMORROW – 9:05 AM – Public Comment at the Board of Supervisors meeting – If you plan to address them, please meet me in the lobby at 8:30.  The more of us who talk the better.

TOMORROW – 7:00 PM – Our last meeting before filing the petition,  Bring any completed sheets you have.

THURSDAY – 9:30 AM – Gathering in front of Rood Center to proceed to the Elections office to file the signatures at 10 AM.  I’d love to see it be an “event” that merits media coverage.  Enlist as many people as you can to come.

THURSDAY – 1 PM – Tom Fitzsimmons is giving us an hour on his program on KNCO to bring his audience up-to-date about SOJ!!!

At times it seemed like we would never get there, that it was an impossible task to gather the necessary signatures for our petition to qualify!

But, thanks to the untiring efforts of your Steering Committee and volunteers, next Thursday January 28th at 10 AM, proudly wearing our green t-shirts we will deliver to the Nevada County Elections Office over 5,500 signatures requesting that our Board of Supervisors put the State of Jefferson proposition on the ballot so that the citizens of Nevada County can express their opinion on whether our County should become part of the effort to form a new state where we would be guaranteed a voice in the decisions that shape our lives and the future of our children.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, we will also be addressing our Board of Supervisors during public comment time at 9:05 AM to inform them about the success of our signature gathering campaign.

Let us turn Thursday into a display of the support our movement has in our County.  Come and join your committee on the front steps of the Rood Center at 9:30 am, wear your green t-shirts, fly the SOJ flag!

[26jan16 update]  Nevada County’s big solar panel project was highlighted in the 25jan16 Union in a piece that left many (like me) scratching their heads.  While giving all green thinking people a good belly rub, both the upkeep, long term benefits, and financing remain a jumble.  Today at the Rood Center the BoS will get a prezo on the whole thing (I have a conflict and won’t be able to attend.)  A reader and fellow head scratcher sent me an email which expands on some of the puzzling aspects of the project; here it is –

I saw some interesting numbers in The Union article about equipping the County buildings with solar panels using a government grant. I did not see any maintenance costs?  Someone has to keep the dust off, remove the snow in winter.  At the end of 20 years the County will own the system. But, over time the performance of the solar panels decline, at the end to 20 years, the decline is significant. I never see any cost of ownership in these wonderful solar numbers.

I talked to one of my neighbors who was considering solar and did some research. He mentioned that solar panels for China were less expensive, but after about 5 years they start delaminating, and water penetration is causing some real problems.  Are the County going to insure they have US made panels?

If you have a chance encounter with a Supervisor, you might ask what the maintenance cost of the systems are, the projected performance at the end of 20 years and will they have a buy US clause in the contract.

In the aggregate Millenials are not too bright – neither numerate nor knowledgeable in economics and finance.  That is the main reason that the Left is citing their polled opinions and courting their votes; they fit right in.  From Yahoo Finance

A new study conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers and George Washington University confirmed that millennials have an alarmingly low level of financial literacy, which could have “disastrous” effects on the economy.  “Of the millennials that we surveyed, only 8% answered five out of five questions correctly and 24% answered three correctly,” lamented Steve Barr, partner at PwC.  The study analyzed the financial characteristics of more than 5,500 people born between the early 1980s and the mid-1990s.

I’m of the mind to buy my grand daughter a horse. Hoo boy! I can already hear the cat calls from the Tea Party as I slide even deeper into the 3rd world morass.
Meanwhile, put on your tin foil hat and buy a set of black helicopters to burn at the stake: The more I learn about the Tea Party and their Agenda 21 fixation, the more I realize how much I misunderstood your marching orders.

When I was a Supervisor I learned how many of these programs get traction and become a part of local laws and land use regulations. The staff would go out to find a existing set of similar laws in place somewhere else and then place that into the local rules, laws and regulations. Our General Plan is full of the crap. Anyway, the best place to see that strategy being implemented is in the “salaries” studies. It is all the same. And it gets to be the easy way for the regulators to convince a positive vote on the dopiest thing. Everybody else is doing it. And there you have it. That is how A21 got into our GP.

Hillary in an Orange Jumpsuit. Boy, everyone out there south of the frozen tundra and north of the orchids of Central America are getting impatient. Will Hillary be donning orange or not?. When? Are we there yet, are we there yet?? Calm down. Time will tell. Just like so many things in life, just wait and see how it pans out.
This impatient soul just could not wait any longer.

“sign of desperation when the Left has to construct a ‘war on bikes’”
Did some Lefty write this page on the Tea Party 911 website? The page title is: It is all about going on a “road diet”. Under “Learn to identify the signs of Agenda 21 in your community” Bike paths seem to be a sure sign of impending doom. Sounds like a war on bikes to me under no uncertain terms.

Actually jon it appears as though George (feel free to correct me if I’m incorrect George) left out a word from his sentence. If I had to guess that word would have been “narrative”……as in… when the Left has to construct a ‘war on bikes’ narrative in order to deny the existence of A21 and its impact on reorganizing American society?

For a little local quantification, I got 372 hits for the google search term ‘ ICLEI “Sierra Business Council” ‘
Agenda 21 isn’t a conspiracy, it’s just what all the smart people (you know, left-liberals who believe in reducing the carbon footprints of the proles so their fearless leaders can fly their jets to Davos) know needs to be done.
This is the peak year for AGW, make the most of it, “Jon”/Frisch. It’s very probably downhill after the El Nino passes.

The “war on bikes” narrative is just justification for trashing Strawsers’ business because he’s running against the annointed one… Heidi Hall. And it isn’t because he’s joined any “Agenda 21”-driven group… it’s because he’s gotten minor support from a group that has some members aligned with one or more Tea Party groups.
This is ugly and vindictive small town politics at work. The Pellines of this town not only want the non-left to lose, they want them to starve.

    Gregory-
You are absolutely correct, Agenda 21 isn’t a conspiracy any more than cloud seeding or electro magnetic radiation being emitted by smart meters. The conspiracy comes to fruition by those who take small bits of truth and twist them into the specter of world domination, chem trail hysteria, or thought control via smart meters. Conspiracy theories invariably evolve from the fringe of both the far right and far left wing elements. I am an equal opportunity jouster when it comes to pricking the extremes of either wing. Rebane and Pelline are neither better or worse than one another, they are probably more alike in their extremism than they are different. That said, quite frankly MUCH of what goes on in these blogs is educational if not entertaining. I’ve learned a lot and have changed my mind about things by what has been addressed here. My guess is that, politics aside, I could sit down with anyone who contributes to this page and have a delightful evening over a few beers.

Reading through the above posts, It’s beginning to appear that Mr. Smith is taking too much of his MMJ derivative. Being one who reads the news and anything politics, this little “war on bikes” is pure horse shit. Another “look over here!” distraction.
There have been, and always will be A-holes on two wheels. You know, like the Progressive idiots who intentionally tie up traffic in Frisco on an annual basis, because they hate cars.
If Smith wants to believe Agenda 21 is fiction, that’s his fault for being ill informed.
As the saying goes. “You can lead a mule to water but good luck making him drink.” So if he dies of thirst, it’s his own damned problem.

Except Agenda 21 really exists and is a big part of the UN global warming/climate change/sustainability focus. Unfortunately, the right doesn’t understand that ranting about the UN makes it easy for the Left to make them look like neo John Birch Society conspiracy loons. It isn’t a conspiracy, hidden in the shadows. It’s out in the open. Like the IPCC.
Time is on the side of the Agenda 21 foes. The “sustainability” movement, based on unsustainable demands for private money and government debt, won’t last in a financial decline and the absence of real warming driven by warming detected by satellite sensors designed to measure it. People in economic distress won’t be cajoled into spending more for less energy and moving from middle class single family homes to high density housing.

Your Q: you can not attribute a single extreme view to me that is the sole provenance of the “far right elements”
My answer: You are absolutly correct. Your views (Agenda 21 happens to be the topic) are shared by elements of the far left. You do NOT have “sole provenance” of said views and I never implied such. I have read and re-read Agenda 21 and your interpretation is just that, an interpretation. Despite what Tea Party publications espouse, the fact that bike paths and round abouts are appearing in our neighborhoods is not (in my opinion) suggestive of a new world order bringing America to a third world status. If you still consider this pretty specific point as a generalization, coversation is over because it is obvious you have “a mouth to speak but not an ear to listen” (as paraphrased from Ben Franklin).

re jons 643pm – Can any reader tell us how in hell do bike paths and roundabouts have anything to do with MY views? And there has never been any “interpretation” of A21 objectives. They are a published compendium that maps one-to-one with progressive initiatives at ALL levels of government. To make sure of that, we send our – yes, from Nevada County – government administrators to A21 ICLEI classes. There is no conspiracy whatsoever connected with achieving A21 objectives.
This attempted exchange was another illustration of the hopeless polarization in our country. When two sides do not even agree on the facts, then any attempt to reason from them is doomed from the start.

Jon Smith is painting himself as a pragmatic, if not a reasonable centralist. Fair enough, whether one agrees or disagrees with my characterization. I am more of a pragmatic when the rubber meets the road myself on a bunch of things. Kinda like a half loaf of bread is better than eating air.
This whole thing started with someone’s comment about Mr. Nevada City Bike Shop’s endorsement by the local contractors’ group. That raised the ire of the Taxed Enough Already Party haters and boy o boy that group is hated by the Libbies. The whole idea of smaller government, living on a budget, living within your means, individual responsibility, limits of government, limits on government (gasp) and just plain ole “back off” is heresy to most of the libs. I get it. Then to the extremes and now it’s friggin tricycle paths.
Yo, Walt, you were right about that snob pack of cyclists in PV. After writing how the cyclists give me the thumbs up, I remembered a time about 4 months ago in PV that I came across a pack of them in the morning and almost got flipped off by them just for driving down the road slowly in the opposite direction….their road, both lanes! I got looks of disdain. Yep, they probably get together after a ride and talk about idiot motorists and we go home and bitch about those a-hole cyclists, lol. Same with politics.
Geeze, ever since Carter I have heard volumes about the evil Trilateral Commission taking over the world. Probably true (at least maybe talking about taking over the world over some expensive brandy in those smoked filled private rooms in the back of some exclusive clubs).
Then it was the Masons, The New World Order, aka, Marxism, The Jesuits, the Rothchilds (always the Rothchilds), and now it’s Agenda 21. But Agenda 21 has a paper trail, a how to manual, and you can see the agenda with your own eyeballs from stack and pack, renewables, to even wondering if it is ok to mention national borders.
My beef with Agenda 21 (besides putting America second) is that for the plan to work on paper, the world’s population has to decrease 20% for the food, energy, and self sufficiency to pencil out. That is where my alarms and bells and whistles go off. It ain’t about recycling, eating less beef, Round-d-Bouts, little girl’s bike paths or real bicycle paths.. It’s about taking orders from some hare brained multicultural no borders non American Commie telling us what we should be doing from dysfunctional Europe.
So yeah, hate on the Tea Party and especially those neanderthals who reach into their pockets and pull out pocket sized copies of The US Constitution. Makes the Agenda 21ers roll their eyes, lol. And yeah, chanting USA!, USA!, USA!, is so Ozzie and Harriet, not to mention the real meaning of the chant: White Power, ignorance, and a whole slew of phobias.
Me thinks the Tea Party Supporters and the Agenda 21 supporters have difficulty with cohabitation.

But let me offer the following thought. Perhaps she should not be taken off the street after Comey delivers his stack to the DoJ. Let the scandal continue to simmer as Team Obama decides what Loretta Lynch will say (i.e. prevaricate) on the Sunday circuit. She will then definitely be campaigning as damaged goods for the Democrats who will be scrambling to put Plan B into operation. In the meantime more and more undecideds will be migrating toward the Republican side. Add to that some timely resignations from the FBI, and we’ll have a real show for the voters as the truth develops that the Dems tried to foist a nasty, lying, selfish, hubristic felon on the country as its presidential candidate.

What many do not understand is that MOTIVE in handling top top secret stuff is not even a consideration under the Espionage Act. Negleance does not include any alibisas as a defense, zero. And blame will not work either. And the material does not even need to be marked as her training in handling documents require her to recognize classified Intel. That is just the beginning.
Figured the FBI is making this a iron clad case 7 ways to Sunday. There are way too many former Intel pros writing about this so nonchalantly and in a monotone matter of fact manner that nobody is giving Our Gal even the benefit of the doubt.
The Clinton playbook has always used plausible deniability as the escape clause, but even plausible deniability won’t work. They are out of trick plays. This has gone to from 4th and 20 to 4th and 99 with no time on the clock being down by 9.
Now, what Loretta will do is the 20 billion dollar question. Hell of a lot more at stake for O, the Globalists, and The Establishment Party than just Hillary. A possible landscape changer.

She will do some time..possibly a few years. No argument. Maybe she can do the Muslim daughter of Iranian immigrant defense thang or maybe…..hell, she is going down. Those e-mails she exchanged with a security techie at State had me doing some head scratching. The dude was telling her (Huma) when Hillary was having some problems with her Blackberry he would set her up with a State issued Blackberry. It was secure but subject to FOIA requests. Huma replied “that does not make sense”. The confused State security repeated it in the e-mail response and again Huma repeated “that does not make sense.”

Poor Gen. Petraeus. he got slammed for PLENTY less, and now some LIB judge wants to stick it to him some more. Yet Hillary is to get off scot free for worse on a wholesale level.
Oh.. What am I bitching about? The Gen. was a Righty, and not a LIB.. Nevermind…..

Walt, I feel your frustration. Trump is right when he keeps saying Gen. Petraeus has been slammed enough already and his life already ruined. Now it looks like they are piling on.
We all are getting frustrated by the slow moving train wreck of what will be left of Hillary Rodham Clinton. Seems at times justice will not be served. She might even skate. We all need to take a deep breath. We need to stand at ease and light em if you got em.. The wheels of Justice turn slowly.
Patience, Walt, patience. We are not even close to Super Tuesday yet, not to mention June.. Let her get her hopes up and think she will pull this off. Them BOOM. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
Besides, I have already got what I wanted. I wanted this to be brought out in the open. That goal has been achieved, good buddy. It’s all over the news and Left, Right, Tweeners, inside gov’t, outside gov’t, the MSM are all discussing it in the open. No longer behind closed doors. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.
Now, we just sit back and go fishing or fire up the smoker. It’s out of our hands. In addition, I want Trump to take her or Bernie down on their own merit. A straight up toe to toe bare fisted brawl to win the hearts and minds of the majority of the American legal voters. EMailgate is just icing, but not the cake. Stand back and let the Libbies trash her first, then unchain The Donald to finish the job. Miles to go before we can rest comfortably, Mr. Walt, miles to go. Expect some setbacks, some dark days ahead, but keep your eyes on the prize. Keep your eyes on the prize……
First up is the Far Left. Then it will be our turn.

    Because….muh……science!

“FEDS HAND OUT BILLIONS FOR RESEARCH THAT MAY BE BASED ON PLAGIARISM, FAKE DATA: Now, isn’t that reassuring! Allison Lerner is the inspector general at the National Science Foundation. She and her small team of investigators and auditors have been warning for a long time that hundreds of funding proposals submitted to NSF contain plagiarized passages and/or made-up data. The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group’s Ethan Barton was told by a senior NSF official that it’s impossible to know if grant recipients actually spend the funds as promised. Maybe it’s time somebody in Congress or at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue listened to Lerner?”

Yeah…..but all that climate change “data”……I’m sure that’s completely pristine.
