[Does anyone have an idea about what the FBI is still doing in its investigation of Hillary.  With the IG's finding it would appear that there's now an overwhelming amount evidence to indict her for multiple crimes.  The investigation itself could continue.  But shouldn't Director Comey take what he has to DoJ and get them started on the next step in the process?  Liz Warren needs time to prepare, and so does ol' Joe.  gjr]

They’re poll watching…….if she continues to weaken that will increase the probability that they force an indictment.
    They’re political animals too!

Isn’t the revealed wisdom that if an indictment isn’t presented that the FBI will have mass resignations as protests.
Never let a crisis go to waste means let those FBI types with a shred of integrity resign voluntarily……I can practically hear the gleeful laughter from of Oval Office from here!

fish 1011am – True enough. But what would the country’s reaction be to Obama’s DoJ ignoring a ton of culpable evidence from the FBI while still continuing to pursue Petraeus? Are we that far beyond the tipping point?
On another matter – Stratfor reports that Turkey (consulting with Russia and the US) looks like it is ready to attack ISIS in its Syrian cross-border regions. If so, then ISIS’ attacks in Istanbul and other Turkish cities may have been a bridge too far for them – Erdogan is not prepared to take any more crap from those ragheads.

Lets see…..10% of college students polled think Judge Judy is on the Supreme Court and Americans are routinely caught out willingly volunteering to sign away their rights in the name of the latest lefty cause. So I would say yes, it’s quite likely that we’re well past the tipping point!

    The Elite are concerned:
The prospect of Trump in the White House is ratcheting up anxiety among the 2,500 business and political leaders gathered at the Swiss ski resort for the annual World Economic Forum. With less than two weeks before voting in primaries gets under way and Trump in the Republican Party lead, those who fear a rise in protectionism and economic mismanagement are speaking out against the billionaire property developer.

Frankly Russ I’m surprised that Trump is still in it at this fairly late stage. I assumed that he would have let himself be bought off with all sorts of concessions by now in exchange for a graceful exit.

    Steven Frisch call your office:
Once again global business leaders at Davos have gone off narrative, by failing to identify “climate change” as their number one priority; instead voicing concerns about “over regulation” and economic issues.
Despite concerns about its impact on extreme weather events, such as recent flooding in the UK, climate change failed to register near the top of the list of business threats, according to a survey of 1,400 CEOs from around the world compiled by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and published at Davos this week.
Instead, over-regulation was listed as the biggest threat to business (by 79% of CEOs), followed by geopolitical uncertainty (74%) and other key threats including cyber attacks (61%).

Governor Brown did not get the PwC memo before preparing his State of the State address for the Legislature. He still thinks that anthropogenic climate change is a huge threat to the State and the Nation. He is promising us more regulations to reduce CO2 emissions and more taxes to further strangle the state’s economy. The only way we can explain this disconnect between international business leaders who do not think AGW is a threat and state leadership who does is that we are being lead by UN Agenda 21driven leaders.

Hmmm. It all depends on the skin color of the 150 FBI agents’ 2 pronged investigation into Hillary espionage offenses and Hillary living a lavish lifestyle as a direct result of trading favors at State for “gifts” to the Foundation.
First, they can’t do it during Hate Whitey Month. Second, there are still E-mails being gone over, still e-mails being recovered from the cloth wiped server, still waiting to see if she will win Iowa. Plus, they have to interview her first. Hmm, they don’t have to interview her, but it is a professional courtesy usually granted to a person of her experience.

Maybe in March. After March Madness when they can get the White House’s attention for 5 minutes. Boy, this decision is a biggie if not based on anything other that the objective facts. Besides, we all know this is just a simple matter of inter-agency bickering that goes on all the time in Washington, fueled of course by the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy with its lackey the Inspector General trying to discredit Hillary because they cannot handle a woman in the Oval Office.

    Not a clue!
My more paranoid side thinks that 18 to 24 months into a Trump administration the PTB finally decides to quietly engineer a scuttling of the economy that can be conveniently be blamed on “the businessman” occupying the White House. This would allow significant latitude in discharging all the undeliverable promises (Medicare, SS, etc.) while placing blame on a “Non Compliant” Chief Executive.

Did any of you find the recent slamming of General Petraeus a canary in the coal mine? They ain’t done with him yet. Besides stripping him of his rank (demotion) and the 100k fine and a long probation period, looks like they are just warming up. Strip his pension? That Espionage Act has some nasty sharp teeth. I see it as a shot across the bow. Ain’t no secret that Defense hated State when Hillary has there, but I see this as a warning that handling state secrets is of upmost importance.
Hey, Hillary sent and received higher secretier secrets on her unsecured private server than even Snowden released. Plus, Bubba had access to her private server account. Bad Clinton’s, bad!
Hillary is toast. In this day and age of Internet hackers, Homeland Security surveillance on us, an explosion of Intel, and our Information Age, carelessness cannot be given home, nor even an inch. Otherwise, Hillary’s attitude will spread like gangrene through government and dissolve “into loose lips sink ships” from top to bottom in Government.
The FBI has to act upon evidence discovered. Has to. It’s too big of a threat to our nation. When? Ah, the billion dollar question.
BTY, I see pushback from Federal LE everywhere. They did not like having their reputations trashed under O. They had to carry his water and take the fall for O and his highly politicalized Justice Department. Justice? Ha, that is a misnomer under O. Now that O has less that 365 days in office, the ATF leaked (reported boldly and proudly) that those 50 caliber guns (2) that ended up El Grande Drug Lord’s hands came from Fast and Furious as Fish pointed out yesterday. No holding back!! There are reputations to be saved, credibility issues to be rehabilated, and trust issues to be corrected now that O has hit 364 days left in office. Not 100% mind you. Don’t hold your breath for VA or IRS reforms/investigations, but Defense and Federal LE are hunting for opportunities to set the story straight. Another canary in the coal mine.

Oh, golly, the usual suspects are fawning over another bit of global warming ‘research’ they don’t understand, pushed by AP’s Seth Borenstein, who doesn’t understand it, either.
The “warmest year ever” meme will continue until the El Nino event is over. It remains completely demonstrable that the warming predicted for the atmosphere which drives the high surface temperatures predicted by modeling… doesn’t exist. And as all good scientists know … if your theory doesn’t agree with experiment, it’s wrong.

In case you missed it, here is Governor Brown’s State of the State on Climate Change (With Comments):
Besides the immediacy of the drought, there is the overarching threat of a warming climate. Incredibly – though last year was the hottest on record – there are still those, particularly in Washington, who are in denial. But even the deniers can’t deny the carbon pollution that exists all over the world. It is causing serious injury and respiratory disease to people of all ages, but especially the young and very old.
Thankfully the rest of the world has heard the message: Humankind must change its ways and radically decarbonize the economy.
The Paris climate agreement was a breakthrough and California was there leading the way. Over 100 states, provinces and regions have now signed on to our Under 2 MOU. The goal is to bring per capita greenhouse gases down to two tons per person. This will take decades and vast innovation. But with SB 350, we’re on our way.

. . . last year was the hottest on record (Actually the third warmest, all the result of an El Niña weather pattern)
. . . deniers can’t deny the carbon pollution that exists all over the world. (As you exhale you are adding to Governor Brown carbon pollution, stop breathing)
. . . Thankfully the rest of the world has heard the message: (They sure did, they refused to sign any binding agreements, recognizing that economic development is more important than saving the world from anthropogenic carbon pollution. Brown is too wed to environmentalism to appreciate the irony of the situation.)
. . . But with SB 350, we’re on our way ( And,”100 states, provinces and regions” are glad they do not have an economy busting SB 350.)

The 1,340 Classified documents stored on Hillary’s non-secure server that she shared with 2 non-secure companies points to a probable violation of USC 18 Section 793, “gross negligence” in the handling of secure information under the Espionage Act. Each violation carries a mandatory 5-25 year non-concurrent sentence. Say a judge goes easy on the very old hag and gives her only 5 years each on the well over 4,000 crimes, that means Hillary will only spend 20,000 years in jail.

The Porter Ranch natural gas leak in L.A. kind of makes all of Gov. Brown’s and the legislators work on SB350 a moot point to me. From an L.A. Times article several weeks ago. “The leaking well at Aliso Canyon, as of Dec. 22, had emitted as much greenhouse gas as 330,000 passenger vehicles produce in a year”. The article talks about lax safety regulations and Gov. Browns slow action. I take these articles with a grain of salt, but even if it half right it casts a very hypocritical light on our state leadership. Anyway here is a link to article.

We all know the oil and gas industry is being repressed and kept under “the man’s” thumb by over zealous regulators. As an aside, these natural gas reservoir leaks were identified (with warnings) in the 70’s. Brown’s fault for “lax regulations”? I think not.

Not being a drinker either I can attest to knowing many people who would rather sit on their butts and smoke a bong rather than partake in the productive world of work. All MJ users get high, that is why they do it. All people who drink alcohol do not necessarily drink to excess. French start drinking at a young age. They like their wine. They are a first world nation. Same for Germany and beer. Bolivia and Ecuador are coca chewers and are far from third world. All stoned

I am talking about safety items. Here is a quote from the article.
“The leaking well didn’t have a working safety valve, which could have stopped the flow of gas once a problem was discovered. But such a valve isn’t required by law.”
Yes we are way over regulated in Calif. But having pipelines that don’t burst like the PG&E San Bruno explosion and natural gas wells that don’t leak are a good idea in my view. The fact that is spewing out mass quantities of methane that the State is trying to stop is ridiculous. What is the point of this overzealous regulation of greenhouse gases, which I don’t agree with, if this well can leak for months, due to lack of something along the lines of valve that shuts off the flow if their is a leak. This is just another example of a totally dysfunctional, hypocritical, State Government.

In looking at the National Review attack on Trump, the elites have missed the point, the issue is really not about Trump it is about angry voters. Voters who believe the political system, Republican or Democrat, have screwed them. Taking a look at the Drudge Super Poll, 36% voted for Trump and 29% voted for Sanders. The closest is Cruz at 19%. If you add the angry Trump and angry Sanders votes together, you get 65% percent of the total voters in the poll. Add the angry Cruz voters and you get 85% who are upset with the current political system. There are lots of angry voters out there and most will not read the National Review, or give a damn about what the Republican elites think.

MKesti, you have your opinion and we disagree. Isn’t that special? You get 50% plus one vote and you win. Same for me. So go win and I will abide by the people’s choice. I bet you would not.

What I find interesting about the attacks on Cruz and Trump are the elites of the party failing to see their positions and the actual turnout of the voter. Both party’s voters stay home to the tune of 60% or so. The reason is both party’s leadership are BORING!! Trump and Cruz have livened up the political scene and many people are getting back in!
So as far as the detractors in the National Review, I say good luck with that. They are out of touch.

Well spoken from a Republican who believes in lower taxes.
