Reports of Muslim men assaulting western women in Europe over the recent holidays have been minimized and dismissed by the lamestream media and leftwing pundits. Their meager reporting has even been characterized as being racist since the evidence all points to Islam in the growing episodes of culture clashes in European countries, and that the liberal mind considers discriminatory.  Well, of course it is since such reporting by its very nature points out what is this and is not that.  (See also Peter Hammond’s piece reported in ‘Ruminations – 3jan16’.)

Giving due credit I must mention this morning’s front page article in the 6jan16 WSJ, ‘In Germany Assaults Test Migrant Policy’, but then the WSJ is not your typical lamestream outlet. To really plumb the depths of some shallow minds, the paper quotes a German leftwinger responding to the outrage being expressed by many Germans by announcing that “rightwingers will use (such expressions) for their cause”.  What the midget mind misses is that opposing the Islamic takeover of Europe, where women will be treated as chattel, IS the rightwingers cause.

I’m also encouraged that there are a few European politicians who are beginning to show spine against the Islamic onslaught. An example was sent to me by a correspondent of a video recording Swiss parliament member Oskar Freysingers’s short speech on the subject (it is in German with excellent subtitles).  Watching this speech I was reminded of a passage from Gibbon’s The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, which perfectly describes the west’s slide into the barbarism of the next caliphate.

It was scarcely possible that the eyes of contemporaries should discover in the public felicity the latent causes of decay and corruption. This long peace, and the uniform government of the Romans, introduced a slow and secret poison into the vitals of the empire. The minds of men were gradually reduced to the same level, the fire of genius was extinguished, and even the military spirit evaporated. . . . Their personal valour remained, but they no longer possessed that public courage which is nourished by the love of independence, the sense of national honour, the presence of danger, and the habit of command. They received laws and governors from the will of their sovereign, and trusted for their defence to a mercenary army. The posterity of their boldest leaders was contented with the rank of citizens and subjects. The most aspiring spirits resorted to the court or standard of the emperors; and the deserted provinces, deprived of political strength or union, insensibly sunk into the languid indifference of private life.

[update] President Obama’s continually demonstrated devotion to Islam over Christianity, his dubiously asserted religion, was again evident when his DoJ took sides against a couple of Muslim truck drivers for a retailer that sold alcoholic beverages. They refused to make deliveries of beer and were fired (since they knew that was a condition of their employment).  The Muslims sued and their case was taken by the feds who awarded them over a quarter million damages in addition to costing the taxpayers untold tens of thousands.  No such sentiments were evident for the Christian baker or the county clerk.  There is evil afoot in the land; watch the Fox News video.

[7jan16 update] Government sponsored National Lies are another harbinger of our demise.  Two prominent ones currently are Preventable Global Warming aka ‘climate change’, and that the nation is being overrun by “gun violence”.  Much space on these pages (and on many more dedicated blogs) has been devoted to a systematic debunking of PGW and the resurrection of a healthy scientific dialogue.  However, not enough has been said about the simple idiots and evil central planners that are steadily eroding Second Amendment rights under the guise of stemming the fabricated growth of gun violence.

That national lie is accepted unquestioningly by our gruberized, perhaps due to its utter unabashed blatancy. The 32K or so annual gun deaths are overwhelmingly self-inflicted – 21K+ suicides and about 2,500 accidents.  The remaining 8,600 are the homicides which should be the only number qualifying as ‘gun violence’.  And looking at the make-up of even that number, its largest component is the 6,000+ black-on-black murders committed in heavily populated urban areas with strict gun controls under decades long Democrat governance.  (If you subtract those high density murders promoted by progressive policies, then the US would rank as one of the most peaceful and least violent countries in the world, which BTW it is, save for the blighted inner cities.)

GunViolenceLie

However, the biggest secret is that, even as gun ownership has increased, the rate of actual gun violence has been dropping for over twenty years, especially where gun rights have been expanded and where common sense policing has been practiced (see above figure)  And nowhere does the lamestream publish the stats on the tens of thousands of crimes prevented annually by legal guns in the hands of citizens.

As an idiot, you neither know about this nor believe it as you continue to promote the ‘32K/year and growing’ national lie. As a gruberized American, you are too busy to inform yourself about this and most other things that affect the direction of society.  And as an evil central planner, you twist and broadcast these numbers to drive the national agenda toward the controlled future that will be managed by privileged elites.

Ending on a note of hope. Political correctness is finally beginning to show cracks in the minds of almost half the country.  Daniel Henninger writes ‘Revolt of the Politically Incorrect’ – an excellent essay on the country’s mood.

fish, do you mean to say the recent rates of sexual assaults and violence in Europe is finally approaching that of your own Sacramento area?

    No.
I mean to say that a continent that had largely achieved what you progressive soft heads claim to cherish….welfare state….full and complete equality for women and minorities…..minimal foreign adventurism….etc. Has elected to engage in lefty virtue signaling writ large and undo all this by voluntarily importing a feral foreign minority population with delusions of glory.
When this all goes south jon….as it’s starting to now….you will have no one to blame but your flawed ideology! I look forward to the huge roping jets of fire from the lefty blamethrowers….”How could we have known”….We meant well….Those poor people……etc.!
    Leftism always consumes itself!

Now here is something to chew on.
    http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com/2016/01/gov-greg-abbott-calls-for-constitutional-convention-to-take-back-states-rights.html/
Here is his list of what needs to be done.
The plan lays out nine specific proposed amendments that would:
Prohibit congress from regulating activity that occurs wholly within one state.
Require Congress to balance its budget.
Prohibit administrative agencies from creating federal law.
Prohibit administrative agencies from pre-empting state law.
Allow a two-thirds majority of the states to override a U.S. Supreme Court decision.
Require a seven-justice super-majority vote for U.S. Supreme Court decisions that invalidate a democratically enacted law.
Restore the balance of power between the federal and state governments by limiting the former to the powers expressly delegated to it in the Constitution.
Give state officials the power to sue in federal court when federal officials overstep their bounds.
Yup. Texas seems to be the sanest state in the nation these days.
Allow a two-thirds majority of the states to override a federal law or regulation.

These silly immigrants are from Iceland! Haha. Just kidding. Migrants from the Middle East and they are not Syrian Christians. Go figure.

Gregory, agreed. But whatever the source, if it’s true, then it’s true. Remember what that checkout rag The National Enquirer did to Johnnie Edwards and his schlonging about in the fancy priced hotel room? I did like the article under Edward’s picture that said Kerry gave birth to himself. 🙂
Well, I have noticed the conversation in Europe and stateside has gone from Islamic terrorists to Islamic immigration, to Islamic culture that is damn near impossible to integrate into open Western societies based on freedom, cleavage, and democratic values. To deal with the Islamic culture in open societies, the solution is the blanket Progressive Solution for all broken thinkers, aka, send them to PC class. That will fix everything.
Too bad a pessimist like moi thinks Muslim Culture and Western Democracy cannot co-exist in the same neighborhood.

If it were possible, I would advise our leftwing readers to take note once again that just because RR is either prescient or among the first to report something, does not mean that the subject notion is a lonely thought arising in these foothills from a politically very incorrect brain. But taking greater pains to attempt that is known in the common vernacular as pissing in the wind.

Paul. Your idea of “state’s rights” include stripping the “pro gun” people of their rights?
Yup,, allowing a state say what a “legal” gun is asinine. Like requiring “microstamping”.
No maker builds that. Kind of like the EPA requiring “carbon sequestration” by power plants. It didn’t work.

    Regarding Tozer’s 6:10 AM:
Nice try, Billy. As the thorough reader will figure out, this is the opinion of a columnist, not of The Times. Believe it or not, The Times will run pieces by its own employees that don’t agree with the paper’s presumed opinion.
I know people who get their news from Fox and Breitbart have a hard time getting their arms around the notion that a newspaper will allow dissent on its editorial page, but it’s an old tradition in the business.

Mr. Boardman. Oh course it’s an opinion piece. Interesting read, no? The reason I was so shocked is that the content of the NYT’s editorial was sooooo unlike an NYT’s editorial. Sometimes the truth is as plain as a big mole on your face that even The Grey Lady looks reasonable when she points out the elephant in the room is pooping all over the place and it’s getting too high in there. Very uncharacteristic like of the NYT, no?
