AG Loretta Lynch said yesterday that there was not enough evidence to connect San Berdoo’s terrorists with any specific religion.  For that I called her a double dummy.  Upon reflection, that overly generous attribution was in error, and I withdraw it.  English currently does not have an appropriate term that accurately describes her level of ignorance and/or cynicism.  Therefore I must await an expanded lexicon.

Many of us notice that the Left immediately starts hyperventilating about gun control in the aftermath of the latest Muslim massacre.  This serves two purposes – 1) pursuit of an ever more compliant America to prepare the country for global governance, and 2) the Left’s mindset allows no viable opposition to the spread of radical Islam and its global caliphate.  William McGurn (‘The Liberal Theology of Gun Control’) also argues this point.  Our electorate's ignorance of this organic deficit constitutes a clear and present danger to America remaining a sovereign nation-state.  (Isn’t it interesting that both the Left and Islam seek to rule all of humanity under a single world order?)

One person, two-thirds vote.  This is the important case that SCOTUS is now chewing on as it reconsiders the population bases for the states’ drawing of district lines.  If all mirror foggers are counted, then districts with heavy illegal alien and other non-voting populations will increase the clout of those in the district who can vote.  This is a violation of the 14th Amendment, and I hope SCOTUS hearing Evenwell v Abbott has sufficient external plumbing to recognize such violation.  (more here)

Trump’s proposed Muslim ingress ban has gotten every other politician’s undies in a bunch.  The Donald says we should stop all Muslims entering the US until our government comes up with a viable policy (any policy?) that recognizes and deals with sources of radicalized Islamic terror.  Given the role of taqiya (about which no one wants to talk), the reticence of our moderate Muslims to expose their own radicals, and the lengthening record of massacres by Muslims, Trump has voiced that which many (most?) Americans support given this administration’s abrogating its responsibility to secure the country.  In response to such outlandish pronouncements, Trump’s poll numbers have finally surged well north of the 25% region where he seems to have been stuck for a long time.

[Update]  Power went out on Cement Hill this afternoon and is not expected back until late this evening, unless PG&E postpones it again.  During these times I am reminded that PG&E and all other utilities don’t really work for the consumers of their product.  They are monopolies that work for their state public utilities commissions.  The PUCs are faceless bureaucrats with totally different agendas to fulfill – it is they who regulate and set the rate cards for the utilities.  When a neighborhood like ours loses power (today for a reason that clearly was not an ‘act of God’), they will take their own sweet time to get it repaired so as minimize some cost function that does not involve my inconvenience.  And the progressives want the government to control ever more of the production and distribution of our goods and services.

[9dec15 update]  A commenter under "… A Cancer on our Nation" contributed this little piece of American law that seems to render moot remarks offered by Sen Cruz on Muslim entrants, and remove considerable sting from Mr Trump's blanket dictum.  Wonder why no one has brought this up in the national debate.

8 U.S. Code § 1182 – Inadmissible aliens
….
(f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

And a reader and correspondent sends the report ('America's Muslims object to Obama's push for more self-surveillance') by Reuters.  The responses coming in (as in this example) from the country's mosques are not very hopeful, instead they do support the polling results (reported here) of the attitudes of America's Muslims toward jihad, shariah law, the caliphate, and support of ISIS.  RR's proposition that there are a lot fewer 'moderate Muslims'  among us than claimed by the Left and the lamestream stands.

Meanwhile another correspondent sends a report by the Associated Press on the impacts of climate change

The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulate, at Bergen, Norway.

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone.

Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes.

Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm.

Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.

Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic,

while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.

Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.

This report was published in the 2nov1922 issue of The Washington Post 93 years ago.

“Trump beats Hillary in many polls. Most R’s beat all D’s in those national polls.”
Todd, my link is to Polling Report.com which publishes up to the date numbers from all major polls. My quick glance shows that of the 8 polls cited Trump beats Clinton in only one. Check this out and help me understand why you appear to be so off the mark on this one.
    http://www.pollingreport.com/wh16gen.htm
Also Real Clear Politics doesn’t show Trump beating Clinton in any polls. Help me understand where you got your information.

Here’s a quandary. If Trump is such a guaranteed loser, and all the liberals (including our readers) know this, then why are they constantly worried about Trump and spend time telling every one what a bad guy he is? Don’t they and THEIR media know that the more they have bashed Trump, the higher have gone his numbers? If he’s the loser they say he is, then why not forget about him and concentrate their vitriol on the Repub candidate that would give Hillary the most heartburn? Unless, of course, they are already doing that 😉

If Trump wins the vote of the people, then the GOP plays games at the convention and screws him over to give the nomination to “whoever”,, what does the electorate do? Blindly cast their vote for who the GOP choose? ( Not bloody likely. That’s what LIBS do)
There will be such an exodus from the GOP, the likes that have never been seen.
The GOP will be signing their own death warrant. They will be seen as the rat bastards many see them as.
Trump will have proven his “right” to run independently. Recall that “pledge”? Think that was a one way street, and only applies to Trump if he “loses”?
If the GOP stabs Trump in the back, the GOP will show themselves to be no better, if not worse the the LIBS.

All this angst about Trump cracks me up. Look around the world and you will see upheavals in politics in many countries. Europe is a good example. Even Canada show there can be a 180 degree swing in the elections and the country survives. I recall when England went from Torie after 18 years to liberal. Canada just did it too. Germany had a left of center for many years then elected Merkel. France has been back and forth with a socialist in charge now. He is way more hawk than Obama.
All the political smart people say Trump will be the demise of the R party. Hogwash. It is simply people wanting a change. I also think Americans are sick of the PC crowds. Plain speaking may return. Look how mucked up our kids are. Half the boys on ritalin, and the rest of them and the girls sexting their 13 year old body parts. What the heell? America is grasping for a return to a normal life. All this PC crap and open morals is chafing the people.
Though I am no prude and enjoy a good chase, American people of substance are saying maybe we need some boundaries of decency and morality. Sure that makes those that want to hump in the public square a little mad, but maybe they should find a private spot and keep it private. We do not need to know everything about everybody’s peccadilloes. Traditional marriage and this killing of babies has brought a lot of people to the fore. Trump if nominated, will make short work of the baby killers on the left. And the wimps. No more red lines but maybe some fists to the face? Hillary will be a wimp ass as are the rest of the lobs, the R’s will be kicking some arse.

Since Obama, the Great Hope of Post Racial America, done got Himself elected, the Dems have lost….have lost something over 1,000 seats across the land, including the House, Senate, State legislature seats and governors. Maybe it is closer to 1,400 when you count municipality head honchos and BOS or their equilivent.

Yeah, you did great in 2012. Too bad 2012 was followed by the more recent 2014. You are so smart. Or, let’s rephrase that. How about you the smartest.
Judging by the last 7 years when that period started off with the Obama Administration in the White House, Queen Nancy holding that big ole gavel, and Harry Reid was the Majority Leader of the US Sentate……ok, Jon, you win! The Dems have lost more state houses (some 30 they lost both chambers), more governors with or without losing both chambers of the state houses…oh Jon, you are moving in the right direction. Please, keep stomping on us, please. Keep up the outstanding work.

Your question can’t be answered. Of course the Dems would love to have Trump as the candidate because he will be easy pickings because he has no real desire to win, only to enhance his brand of quirky rebel with no cause. The media on both sides of the aisle love him because of his entertainment value and that’s why he gets so muck press and tube time. The pubsters are freaking out because he might actually win the nomination and they would lose their big money support who would flock to Clinton because they know what they would be dealing with. Big money hates populism because it is based on passion.
I give the Repubs much credit for dumping the mainstream so far in this election. the Dems are predictable and boring.
Interesting detail is that Trump has spent only 1mil on his campaign so far and Bush, the establishment favorite has spent over 100 and seems headed for Perryland with single digit support and fading. that shows that perhaps money can’t buy elections after all. Trump is a master showman, I give him credit for that.

Hmmmm. I wonder which one of your neighbors is going to lose their composure and go full Loring Wirbel first?

“Which is why pointing the finger at Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck for the crimes of Jared Lee Loughner is only partially correct. The strident and vocal standard bearers in the various Tea Party movements, exemplified in Arizona by the likes of Russell Pearce and Jack Harper, could not develop such a big fan base were they not enablers for a much larger group of people who take the Roosevelt way of looking at the world to heart. Using crosshairs in a gun sight to identify political opponents would not seem that strange to them, because they see politics as a zero-sum game in which one’s opponent should be stuffed and hung on the wall next to the deer heads Sarah shows off on her Alaska show. Many progressives want to say that the lumpen proletariat would not be so wacko without a Fox News or Rush Limbaugh or Sarah Palin to stir them up. I say we can assign a certain amount of blame to the chefs in the kitchen, but we also have to identify the problem at its source.”

—Loring Wirbel, “Violent Depravity as a National Pastime,” Monday, January 10, 2011, after an apolitical lunatic severely wounded Democrat Gabrielle Giffords, killed Bush #41-appointed Federal Judge John Roll, and shot 17 others.
Loring Wirbel, board member of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Colorado chapter and co-chair of the ACLU’s Colorado Springs chapter, called for supporters of GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump to be shot before they vote for the billionaire businessman.
Comparing Trump to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels, Wirbel wrote in his Facebook page:

“The thing is, we have to really reach out to those who might consider voting for Trump and say, ‘This is Goebbels. This is the final solution. If you are voting for him I will have to shoot you before election day.’ They’re not going to listen to reason, so when justice is gone, there’s always force, as Laurie would say.”

—“Colorado ACLU Board Member: Shoot Trump Voters ‘Before Election Day,’” as spotted by Derek Hunter of the Daily Caller, today.
Every leftist/progressive secretly pines for the camps, dogs, and for the guards with truncheons.
Remember….the leftist does this out of love. Gentle correction is always done out of love for his fellow man.
And remember…..”there’s always force, as Laurie would say.”

The Republican Party is truly a mess. Now Carson is threatening to bolt. I love it. If only the Dems were going through the same process perhaps we’d see the end of establishment ruled government.
““If the leaders of the Republican Party want to destroy the party, they should continue to hold meetings like the one described in the Washington Post this morning,” Carson said in a statement Friday….. Carson went so far as to suggest that he would consider leaving the party if it is “the beginning of a plan to subvert the will of the voters.”
“If this was the beginning of a plan to subvert the will of the voters and replace it with the will of the political elite, I assure you Donald Trump will not be the only one leaving the party,” he said. “I pray that the report in the Post this morning was incorrect. If it is correct, every voter who is standing for change must know they are being betrayed. I won’t stand for it.”

Paul, I still do not see a brokered convention. It’s all “what do we do if “The Big One” hits San Fransisco this weekend or are we prepared if El Niño causes Englebright Dam to burst. A brokered convention happens Only if no candidate gets a majority of Republican delegates. Ok, let’s say Cruz soars and takes some states. Can he get more than half of the delegates? I am not saying that Trump runs the table, but he is sure to pick up enough delegates from every state to end up with the half, plus one.
Yes, I could be off my rocker, but this whole talk at this point is akin to the explosive reaction that would take place “if Obama decided not to step aside after the elections and declared martial law through executive order.”
To be fair, I like the if-then scenarios. I don’t see it happening at this moment months before even one primary has been decided. But, to play along, if Trump gets only 35-40 percent of every primary, then it’s popcorn time! Until then, it’s what would happen if the Big One (Quake) hit us on July 4th..
But, Mr. Emery, you may be correct. I do remember the Chicago Convention of 68. That was a golly good time watching the festivities along with Mr. Daley’s own fireworks. It could happen, but I say unlikely. Yes, it would be fun fun fun until her Daddy took the T-Bird away.

My take on what Paul is putting up. The divide of the “Right” shows that “we” think for ourselves, and many put Country before party and “power”. The LIBS on the other hand, the majority of which is Party before country, and their control is all important.
Proof of that is all the people exposed of wrong doing, yet not a damned one shown the door, let alone prosecuted. When a politician or bureaucrat is found to have done wrong the opposite is true.

Walt is totally correct. The left bands together to raise and spend trillions for themselves and the so they overlook differences to sell the country down the river. At least the Right has some debaye and differences.

But, but, who speaks for the media, the 4th branch of government? People are anxious out there. You do not see Hillary giggling on ABC when someone mentions Trump anymore. No, not even Hillary giggles when asked about that man and now talks about love. It’s Hillary Hallmark time. Why? Is it about Trump or is it about the populace ain’t feeling safe and secure about the economy, their children’s futures, enemies foreign and domestic.
The last time Obama called a hastily scheduled talk from the Oval Office was to announce Bin Laden is dead. Now, he rushes back to the Oval Office to calm our fears, not saying much, not laying out a plan, except the usual blah, blah, blah, gun control. But, why is Hillary not giggling at a mention of Trump and why did O race to the cameras to talk to the American people to not say much??
I submit again that it is not Trump in and of himself. It is finally getting through to our fearless leaders that something afoul is going on with the end user (the people) and they are fearful, angry, fed up, and don’t want to play this game anymore. We just ain’t buying it like we use to. And we are not going to swallow the mantra anymore. Nay, many are starting to spit it back.in your faces, fearless leaders.
Come on, look at the Black Lives Matters On Campus thing. Sure, the Dems raced to appease and apologize to them in droves, but not no more. Why? Maybe it is low on our list of priorities of the To Do List. Seems small potatoes to most, providing no free speech zones in places dedicated to higher learning can appear absurd at best.
It the mood of the end consumer is to boycott the product, then this indeed is bigger than Trump. Wipe that smile off your face, Hillary, and keep those running shoes close, Mr. President. White House calls to the media just ain’t fixing it right now, so you better have a good backup plan besides blaming Fox News. Meanwhile, BLM is going through attention withdrawals.

You ask:” If he’s the loser they say he is, then why not forget about him and concentrate their vitriol on the Repub candidate that would give Hillary the most heartburn? Unless, of course, they are already doing that ;-)”
My guess is that they know that he will cause heartburn to the Pubsters and the more they go after him the stronger he gets within his expanding core group. He is a God given distraction for the Dems and a ruptured hernia to the Pubs.
    Hope this answers your question

Did you ever check the link to RCP showing Hillary ahead in all polls but Fox? I feel like a schoolteacher grading your papers.

Just thought I’d weigh in on Evenwell v Abbott and my take is that original intent is that districts be formed by a count of residents, not voters.
Consider congressional districting during slavery… slaves were counted as a 2/3 person, but if the state were to abolish slavery they’d be made whole… but at the time they’d probably not be allowed to vote.
An aside, those of you who think the Constitution should have counted slaves as full persons, you’re agreeing with the Slavers; Abolitionists didn’t want them to count at all in order to not reward slavers with a bigger say in the House because if persons owned by slavers. They split the baby in a compromise in order to form a nation rather than split apart.
So, I’m coming down on the side of counting all residents, but perhaps not those here illegally, or those not actually counted in the Census. Counted, not inferred. Counted, with names and ages recorded. If you are unwilling to cooperate with that Constitutionally mandated task perhaps you shouldn’t be available as political capital by representatives of your locale.

A simpler reason the Dems are going after Trump is because his ideas are not popular with the public in general but are very strong with a sizeable number of Repubs. His proposed ban on Muslims entering the country for example shows it’s a win-win to go after his shoot from the hip proposal. The more the Ddems go after Trump the more his solid minority of Americans rally to him therefore causing chaos to the Pubber party.
” Nearly six-in-10 Americans oppose Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s proposal to bar Muslims from entering the United States, but Republicans are evenly divided, according to a new national NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
Fifty-seven percent of all adults disagree with Trump’s proposal, versus 25 percent who agree. ”
