AG Loretta Lynch said yesterday that there was not enough evidence to connect San Berdooโ€™s terrorists with any specific religion.  For that I called her a double dummy.  Upon reflection, that overly generous attribution was in error, and I withdraw it.  English currently does not have an appropriate term that accurately describes her level of ignorance and/or cynicism.  Therefore I must await an expanded lexicon.

Many of us notice that the Left immediately starts hyperventilating about gun control in the aftermath of the latest Muslim massacre.  This serves two purposes โ€“ 1) pursuit of an ever more compliant America to prepare the country for global governance, and 2) the Leftโ€™s mindset allows no viable opposition to the spread of radical Islam and its global caliphate.  William McGurn (โ€˜The Liberal Theology of Gun Controlโ€™) also argues this point.  Our electorate's ignorance of this organic deficit constitutes a clear and present danger to America remaining a sovereign nation-state.  (Isnโ€™t it interesting that both the Left and Islam seek to rule all of humanity under a single world order?)

One person, two-thirds vote.  This is the important case that SCOTUS is now chewing on as it reconsiders the population bases for the statesโ€™ drawing of district lines.  If all mirror foggers are counted, then districts with heavy illegal alien and other non-voting populations will increase the clout of those in the district who can vote.  This is a violation of the 14th Amendment, and I hope SCOTUS hearing Evenwell v Abbott has sufficient external plumbing to recognize such violation.  (more here)

Trumpโ€™s proposed Muslim ingress ban has gotten every other politicianโ€™s undies in a bunch.  The Donald says we should stop all Muslims entering the US until our government comes up with a viable policy (any policy?) that recognizes and deals with sources of radicalized Islamic terror.  Given the role of taqiya (about which no one wants to talk), the reticence of our moderate Muslims to expose their own radicals, and the lengthening record of massacres by Muslims, Trump has voiced that which many (most?) Americans support given this administrationโ€™s abrogating its responsibility to secure the country.  In response to such outlandish pronouncements, Trumpโ€™s poll numbers have finally surged well north of the 25% region where he seems to have been stuck for a long time.

[Update]  Power went out on Cement Hill this afternoon and is not expected back until late this evening, unless PG&E postpones it again.  During these times I am reminded that PG&E and all other utilities donโ€™t really work for the consumers of their product.  They are monopolies that work for their state public utilities commissions.  The PUCs are faceless bureaucrats with totally different agendas to fulfill โ€“ it is they who regulate and set the rate cards for the utilities.  When a neighborhood like ours loses power (today for a reason that clearly was not an โ€˜act of Godโ€™), they will take their own sweet time to get it repaired so as minimize some cost function that does not involve my inconvenience.  And the progressives want the government to control ever more of the production and distribution of our goods and services.

[9dec15 update]  A commenter under "… A Cancer on our Nation" contributed this little piece of American law that seems to render moot remarks offered by Sen Cruz on Muslim entrants, and remove considerable sting from Mr Trump's blanket dictum.  Wonder why no one has brought this up in the national debate.

8 U.S. Code ยง 1182 – Inadmissible aliens
….
(f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

And a reader and correspondent sends the report ('America's Muslims object to Obama's push for more self-surveillance') by Reuters.  The responses coming in (as in this example) from the country's mosques are not very hopeful, instead they do support the polling results (reported here) of the attitudes of America's Muslims toward jihad, shariah law, the caliphate, and support of ISIS.  RR's proposition that there are a lot fewer 'moderate Muslims'  among us than claimed by the Left and the lamestream stands.

Meanwhile another correspondent sends a report by the Associated Press on the impacts of climate change

The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulate, at Bergen, Norway.

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone.

Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes.

Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm.

Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.

Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic,

while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.

Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.

This report was published in the 2nov1922 issue of The Washington Post 93 years ago.

PaulE 1138am – Good enough, and thank you for this and your 1054am. That analysis seems valid to me. The interesting phenomenon (reported on this morning’s NPR) is that research shows many people respond to pollsters in what they perceive as supplying answers they consider politically correct or otherwise acceptable in polite society. The given examples between polls and actual voting supported this conclusion since in the voting booth the voter is anonymous and more often than not votes with his heart instead of what he told the pollsters.
That would make this a very interesting election if popular frustration with government is as deep as reported and witnessed.

Paul. The devil is in the details. Yup, Hillary is leading a poll. (fine print not included) Maybe between her and the Commie.
How many are counted in the Repub poll? 8,10, 12?
We never hear how the question or the parameters were laid out.
I get the boiler room calls now and then. One from the Carson camp I will use as an example. “they” claim Carson is leading in every poll. Uh,, no he’s not.
I have been “polled” more than once, and sometimes leaving with the feeling I was “poled”.
Some court attorney style questions. you think you are answering the question one way, but turns out to be another. Those lawyers get a full semester in “question frazing” to extract the answer they are looking for.
The informed voter is now hip to these tricks, and more than one big polling agency has been bit in the ass. The DEMS found that out the hard way. Their “polls” said they would regain the House, and keep the Senate. DEM leaders went on TV and said as much.
From Debby Schultz to Nancy “dingbat” Pelosi. Nope things didn’t go as predicted.

George 11:54, I hope you will concede that the sentiment you have witnessed is not among a very diverse population of Americans.

There can be lots of intrigue in interpreting polls for sure. The fact is that the most accepted top 8 polls cited by RCP and Polloingreport.com (which do nothing but report the poll numbers as they come in) are remarkably accurate by the time the election takes place. There are always wanna be polls designed to flatter small groups such as Todds favorite “unskewed poll” that was 12% off in the general election but in fact numbers from major polls that are looked at and taken seriously by the curious, such as myself and the strategists and planners of campaigns and media programs.

Jon and Paul, I would wager most Americans responding to pollsters didn’t pick up on the nuance that Trump’s proposal, like Jimmuh Carters banning immigrants from Iran in a similar situation, isn’t intended to be permanent.
News hounds tend towards the creating of fights with incomplete reporting that makes them the picadores of politics, and that seems the case from MSNBC down to KVMR.

what is the “Nuance” to this?
Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said Trumpโ€™s proposed ban would apply to โ€œeverybodyโ€, including Muslims seeking immigration visas as well as tourists seeking to enter the country. Another Trump staffer confirmed that the ban would also apply to American Muslims who were currently overseas โ€“ presumably including members of the military and diplomatic service. โ€œThis does not apply to people living in the country,โ€ Trump said in an interview on Fox News, โ€œbut we have to be vigilant.โ€
In an interview with the Guardian, Trump senior policy adviser Sam Clovis said: โ€œI donโ€™t think there is anything wrong about asking about religious affiliation.โ€

I glanced at Paul’s polls. No problem with them at all. Throw out the high and low ones, consider briefly the margin of errors, and I see a lot of Trump in the low 40% range…..this far out! Oh Bernie would love to have Trump’s numbers.
So, yes, at this moment Hillary takes down Trump. I could argue this or that, but not today. Trump is still in the running and closer to 50% than 30%. Not bad, not bad at all.
Now, Lady and Gentlemen, feast your eyes on this poll. What, I say what, what in the tarnation is going on out there????????

Tozer, since I would agree with you that Dems usually pull in many non-political people who don’t follow these election festivities at all(what you would call deceptively- “low information”), I would conclude that Hillary’s numbers are actually understated right now and will only go up. Assuming her legal troubles are a non-issue.

jon 128pm – Not sure of the “diversity” you’re referring to. The NPR report was moot on that and therefore implied that the practice was more wider than narrower. The only thing I “witnessed” was a radio report.

Well, here is one US citizen against gun control, who happens to be an Islamic. Without a doubt, this is the kind of understanding sensitive chap that Loretta Lynch, The Obama Administration, nor the progressives will ever call him out. Ever.

Some things don’t change Bill. Once again voter intimidation isn’t prosecuted.
Now what would have gone down if those same words would have been said about Hillary or Burney? The FEDS would have someone’s head on a spike. But since it was a Repub. “move along, nothing to see here.” ( It was just a joke)
I wouldn’t put it past some rabid LIB to follow through with the “request”.

Todd. The more I check out my extremist gun lubber “don’t tread on me” Apple Pie sites, there really is not much about Trump….still. Mostly it is about the 2nd Amendment, Obama’s constitutional transgressions, government hiding and covering up stuff, Hillary bashing, that kind of thing. Maybe conservative means Libertarian, without the legalize heroin slant. So, just for you concerning your 1:24 post.

Back to the original post of Dr. Rebanes’s that Loretta Lynch said there is not enough evidence to tie the San Berdo shooters to any specific religion. Oh course there was not any evidence. The investigation got shut down by Homeland Security, which of course if not shutdown, would have not left the lovely bride enter the USA if her husband would have been put on the no fly list, duh.
