[Well, 'tis the global warming season among other less intensely celebrated religious holidays. We will observe it with an intense fervor not seen in many a year. And AGW, I might add, has ascended to become mankind's first global religion. This week's Economist features its cover story titled 'Clear thinking on climate change' in which the lead commentary accepts the kool-aid with the short statement "that climate change is happening, that it is very largely man-made and that it is exceedingly dangerous, are all now hard to deny". Then it goes on to discuss the political situation in Paris, and that any real agreement will be hard to achieve. And then, I kid you not, in its 14-page spread to induce the promised "clear thinking", it goes through a major dissertation on the models and science, admitting that essentially nothing is well known about the dynamics of earth's climate and less about making the models used to predict near term catastrophe intended to launch thousands of laws and regulations to tame earth's temperature. Now there we have a good and clear example of liberal thought. gjr]

Knock knock, hello, jon jon, you in there? Guess the ‘jons’ sake binge is distracting its attention from its most recent idiocy that’s looking as valid as the rest of its spew. CNN now openly talking about the realities of this incident in San Bernadino being ‘perfectly planned’ not spontaneous.

“ISIS extremists began celebrating the mass shooting in San Bernardino hours after the massacre, creating the hashtag #America_Burning as police hunted for as many as three shooters, Vocativ discovered. The Islamic State, however, did not take credit for the shootings in the ghoulish postings.”

Walt, that link moves its stories around. My reference to the 3rd story (if you scroll down) is now the 4th and maybe 5th or 6th in 10 minutes. About the Truthers claiming this was a government plot!! Turn on the lights and you attract all sorts of bugs.
More on this Ca State/Federal plot for nefarious reasons soon to be aired on KVMR. The Grays (the good aliens) on Mars (our 51st State) tried to warn us but the Reptilians who are evil aliens and live in the northern parts of Mars blocked the Grays from helping. The Reptilians need us as a food source, those greedy things.LikeLike

Now jon jon your fearless leader 0 has sent in the bombs for over a year has he not? Hey he actually hit an economically valuable target recently to show solidarity with the French. But only after dropping warning leaflets 45 minutes in advance. Nice, save some ISIS to feel all touchy feely about bombing for 0. Not so good for the air crews is it? Still failing to opine on facts of todays matters. Same ol’, same ol’ from our sock puppet crew.

One of the shooters was apparently one Sayed Farook, a public.employee who decided to shoot up his department at their holiday party.
I await the targeted ‘gun safety’ regulations that will be formulated in the coming days and weeks from those who couldn’t wait for victims to stop bleeding before turning the tragedy into one of those crises that Dems don’t like to waste.
Congrats to San Berdoo’s SWAT team that was suited up and in a training exercise nearby… it seems it could have been even worse.LikeLike

Don, actually Putin embarrassed Obama to the max when he showed Obama in front of other world leaders pics of the long conveys of trucks transferring oil from ISIS captured oil fields. Putin said, “Hey dude, this is your area you are supposed to be taking care of, what’s up?”, paraphrased of course. So, after a year of not attacking the oil transport from Iraq territory held by ISIS (their main source of revenue), a couple of days later we took out 128 of the trucks. Russia took care of the rest of the 370 or so trucks (without leaflets) and cleaned up the area.
Seems to me that we made some sort of deal with Turkey to allow this to happen with all our satellite and reconiscence capabilities. I am even beginning to think we might have allowed the armament of ISIS as they too, want to overthrow Assad. So, we are reluctant to hit ISIS, the Russians and Iranians are striking our Tax payer funded Syrian Rebels, and we and ISIS are attacking the Syrian Army. And we are supposed to be attacking ISIS. What a mess. No wonder France said “enough of this noise”.
Reports are than when ISIS took Mosel without any resistance driving a long convey of identical Toyota pickups, there was an Apache Helicopter flying over the advancing ISIS army and never fired a shot. Just looking at a 1,000 pickup trucks in the open desert with no air cover. If true, that sucks. Navy pilots are complaining they can’t get authorization to hit targets until AFTER their fuel is too low and have to return to base. Hmmmm. Oh, sometimes I hate US international politics as much as Paul.
Sad day everywhere I look.LikeLike

Oh Walt, I am deeply grieved. No, I ain’t blaming Syrian Refugees, just as I did not blame all Palenstinians for Sirhan Sirhan murdering Bobby Kennedy. Still in the wait and see mode, the waiting room if you will.
. My distrust of our Great White Fathers in Washington runs long and deep, a distrust and suspension that the likes of Mr. Steve find puzzling.
I hope I have been wrong all these years, but my fears and distrust usually are proven over time to have merit. I still trust the FBI.
Just got to figure out the Turkey connection. More will be revealed. I noticed Israel ain’t saying a peep and keeping far away from their neighbor Syria’s mess and Turkey is preventing the Kurds from fighting ISIS, Oh, deals with the devil. Meanwhile, ISIS oil passes through Turkey onto blue water tankers under Italian and other countries’ flags. Maybe shipped to Japan or China or points beyond.
If Assad is the target, we ain’t laying a glove anywhere near him.LikeLike

Walt- I am all for cogen. Like cellulosic ethanol it has yet to break even without substantial government subsidies though (yet). The cogen plant in Burney is ideally located next to a railroad yard and high capacity distribution lines, yet it doesn’t operate at a profit without assistance. These technologies take time to evolve and become cost effective. We’re on the right road though. It is unrealistic to expect the logging industry to single handedly save us from wild land fires. To be effective thinning has to be done every 5-10 years. Logging commercially valuable trees takes 30 or more years.

Confucius says “a wise man looks where the finger points, a jon looks at the finger.”
Well, Obama is turning into just another windbag and nobody bothers to listen to his words anymore. Same words, without the inspiration. Nobody is fainting when he speaks anymore, unless they have been standing in the hot sun too long. He has no passion in his voice. It’s gone.
He has turned into Reagon after Iran-Contra, Bush after Katrina, Clinton after his DNA appeared on an intern’s dress….sad…..he seems to be going through the motions half heartily. Putin has bullied him off the playground and Obamacare will collapse unless the gov’t starts cutting billion dollar checks to the evil health insurance industry to cover their losses. Racial tensions have skyrocketed, not got better, under his watch. Even school kids are boycotting Michele’s school lunches.

As a public service to law enforcement, I will selflessly supply the answer LE is grappling with concerning the big question: What was the motive behind the SB murders yesterday???? Answer is “kill the infidels!” No charge, glad to help.
Oh, I feel that the term “shooters” is too watered down and inaccurate. Murderers is a more precise term, albeit it may not be PC, unless it is a Ted Kaskinski Uni-Bomber look alike loner in Colorado mumbling incoherently, minus Ted’s degree from Berkeley.LikeLike

Walt, if you are like me, I am skeptical of man made climate change, but hate pollution. I hate smog and warnings to not eat the fish one catches.
I share your sentiments about NIMBY. Plus, thinning the fire ladders in our forests on public lands is not natural, thus a no-no. I like how the Good Thinkers in Nevada City have been creaming their jeans for years over burning wood slash in some green furnace to send juice to our charging stations. However, each time this topic comes up, the location of the dream facility keeps being put further and further away, lol.
Now, folks, this is a story I have followed closely since before her arrest months ago. Yeah, it’s all true. What the article declines to state unequivocally is that she was/is shacking up with a lawyer who was organizing forbidden marches and protests against El Presidente. She came and went, came and went abroad to followed the paycheck , but it was her “tribal leader friend” they were after.

Walt 1248pm – We lived in the Santa Monica Mtns for 25 years and witnessed multiple incidents where those who claimed Chumash ancestry discovered holy sites as the county and its residents sought to develop their lands. Noted constitutional scholar Ben Emery weighs in on the 2nd amendment…..
Ben Emery on December 3, 2015 at 9:31 am
The two major reasons for the final draft and approval of the 2nd amendment were the fact the US had no standing army or budget to fund one. The question wasnβt βIfβ but rather βwhenβ the British will be back for round two. The other reason was slave state militia patrols were needed to keep the property (slaves) in order.
Neither of these fit into modern United States. The US has the largest military empire the world has ever seen and chattel slavery has been outlawed but we have exported wage slavery to undeveloped nations. I truly believe an ongoing national televised public debate among scholars sponsored by the US federal government is needed. What we have going on today is the NRA less than 60 year old interpretation of the 2nd amendment being touted as the correct interpretation. Also a huge chunk of the population that ignore that the second amendment exists and want laws to ban weapons. Both are wrong.Ya know Ben ya shouldn’t oughta go on about things like that over at jeffys…..I mean you don’t have any credentials……and you know how he hates people without credentials discussing things.
