[Leaving the 4oct15 sandbox to complete the debate on rampant racism in Nevada County and on RR, we open a fresh one to permit untrammeled consideration of how the Republicans are faring in their selection of a new Speaker against the background of Hillary's Benghazi and email scandals, and the lamestream's coverage of the whole mess.  gjr]

Well, the native/foreign workforce pissing match may go on forever. There is no question that the more enthused foreigners who have yet to discover the magnitude of the public tit, it is their fractional participation that is growing. Therefore, the conclusions about fractional changes become pretty clear. I’m not sure what the specifics of your debate are here, but the Bureau of Labor Statistics is happy to supply some relevant data.

Well I certainly don’t think the fact that the unemployment rate for foreign born workers is slightly better than that of native born workers is going to hurt the Democratic nominee in November of 2016.
If Republicans make the “Donald Trump’ case they are bigots and they lose votes from the fastest rising demographic in the country, Americans with hispanic origins.

Have years of drug prevention work with the IFBC in Sac region. Standing up to scumbags in and out of court is a badge of honor to real people. I know one or two pot growers and have had the good fortune of meeting many young people from around the world who I let crash here on occasion cause they let the girls crash in their countries when they girls stuck out their thumbs and traveled the world. Ole Dad never traveled like they did. The internet changes the way we travel. Friends everywhere.
That was just the background to say the trimmigrants are flooding the area. Local downtown NC retailers are busy, especially those who sell Nevada City’s version of fast food.
AirB&B is how the foreign vagabonds travel and stay here. Again, the net makes one never alone. They are just traveling and will trim for a chance to say “I trimmed marijuana in California.” Guess that is higher up the stories to tell the grandkids than panning gold or getting naked as a Jaybird down at the river.
Two Israeli young men just left here after a half day visit. They answer my questions about their country but they want to check this area out for a month or two. They been in Paris, New York, and San Fransisco since last December and want to see the country. They even bought a new minivan in SF and are staying at a house with a couple locals thru AirB&B. Not your typical homeless to say the least. The girls friends pass through to meet the old man as some stories from my wayward past have been repeated internationally after all these years, lol. Those were they days when folks pulled some good capers, but I digressed again.
Wondered how those Lake County area fires would affect the local economy. Heard from a vagabond former ad exec from Northern England trimming in these parts that somebody just paid 1,900 dollars American for a pound. Fire victims loss is our gain.
I ain’t saying anything good or bad about the agriculture business, just being Walt”s ears on the street. Keep the clean trimmigrants from Germany, Ireland, Scotland, England, anywhere south of El Salvador. Them Colombians are nice folk and ain’t their father’s generation. And boot the American white trash low lives out of Nevada City!

Take your time and I am sure you can come up with the answer to this difficult question. Hint: it’s a community organizer. Hint #2. It’s the same person of interest that put Joe Biden in charge of The Stimuli and the ensuing Recovery Tour. Hint #3. You don’t need to look back farther than today’s date in history.

Ok, the market crash caugh 99.9% of everyone from top to bottom off guard. The one or two who say they warned us are still peddling books about how smart they were back then. Some stuck a gun in their mouths, millions filed for permanent disability (depression) and others looked at their options after getting up off the ground and dusting themselves off. Try plan B, then Plan C, or wing it for awhile and man up.
Todd is one of those that pulled himself up by his tattered bootstraps. What don’t break ya will make ya.
I, being a bloodthirsty materialistic poor man of little means, picked up a 7 year old 3 bedroom, two bath house on 10 acres for 128k, listed at 360k. Man, the sunken tub and shower and the his and her sinks in the master bath is a favorite of my low life lady homeless friends and visitors from poor countries from Western Europe that embraced solar fields.

Geez, Paul E acts like bad unfortunate events has not ever happened to him. Having “her” walk off into the sunset without ya might count as an unfortunate event, not a tale of a string of unfortunate events. Paul, you are something else. A blind spot, perhaps.
From Dr. Rebane’s formative youth as refugees to what Brother Ben is facing, just about every human has had an unfortunate event or 3 happen to them…….shit, that is just about everyone, including the Homecoming Queen and the big stud on campus. It’s called life.
The only constant in life is change….albeit the libs think they can turn that upsidedown to make everything secure and stable, but I digressed again.

Paul E, let’s remember the ’08 crash was primarily due to unmarketable securities issued by those Democratic Party sacred cows, Fannie & Freddie, which had blended quality mortgage securities with valueless sub-prime paper that was hopelessly underwater.
In addition, the pushing of sub-prime mortgages in the first place was initiated by the Clinton administration.

And, of course, the provenance of that mess could even be traced back to another Democrat bon mot, the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977.

Sorry dude, that dog don’t hunt.
And how much in taxes have YOU paid? I call for a renter’s tax, on top of the monthly rent.
Us property owners must pay tax on the roof over our heads, but renters don’t.
If so, post the tax item on your itemized rent bill.
So… Are renters tax dodgers? ( so much for “pay your fair share”)

Ok, give him 40 acres and a mule and see how long it takes for him to starve the mule and lose the ranch. Tax on 40 acres ain’t too bad considering I know a nice nature lady that has 3,000 acres in this county. Think her daddy’s estate does all that paperwork stuff for her. Yep, she is a lib and an artist. She is kinda fun to go bird watching with. I wear tan safari slacks and a goofy floppy kaki green gardener’s hat and she and all her fine looking feminists like to walk about naked and think I am one of them, lol. I am indeed a hypocrite. Renters may not pay property taxes directly but, unless their landlords are charitable or otherwise willing to operate at a loss, the rent that tenants pay cover the property taxes that landlord pay.
Once again, Walt, you have displayed a surprisingly liberal tendency.

Walt, searching the Recorder’s office I see a few Paul Emery records. There are some liens, some judgements and some IRS stuff. In June 2014 there is a deed from a “subbotin”. So if these Paul Emery’s are the Paul Emery here, I would say he is in a state of hypocrisy. A few “county of Nevada” tax collection judgements as well.
When someone like Paul Emery starts this kind of stuff, I feel duty bound to check and see if he is pulling our leg. Looks like he is.
And once again Paul Emery, I still own the house that was in foreclosure. It seems you are unable to understand that.

No such standing is relevant to a discussion of who should pay taxes. It is clear that your experience has prejudiced you against renters and this arguably devalues your opinion rather than reinforcing it.
I didn’t call it “property tax”, now did I?
This discussion’s topic had been property taxes.
