Okay, Russ, you reject global warming but seem to believe we are headed for a long cold period. Since I assume both used computer modeling to reach their conclusions, why do you believe one and reject the other?

A point on science qualifications implied and demonstrated. In their snark what our liberal friends overlook is that True Believers on these (and other blog pages) cite consensus science, much of it dodgy and false. The skeptics like Russ, Gregory (and I) counter with specific points of science. There is a difference.
One does not need a single degree to argue math or science, the arguments stand on their merit. And therefore they cannot be refuted by people who just cite someone’s poll of who they think are qualified (scientists) to advance the counterpoint. That the grassroots True Believers don’t even understand this distinction underlines how all PGW disputes talk past each other.

Walt, Harry Reid virtually nothing to do with Mitt Romney’s loss in 2012. Everyone knew Old Mittster was an job-killing elitist of the highest order long before Harry made a couple of comments. The Old Mittster’s infamous 47% tape to an elite group of multi-millionaires set him on his downward spiral, and the series of GOP gaffes, sexist/racist/clueless comments, and general anti-woman and anti-immigrant sentiment were the final nails in the GOP coffin that year.

Walt, you’re a big War Hawk. You agree with Kevin McCarthy that we need send ground troops to Syria? What about another 50k or so kids to Afghanistan while we are at it to finish off the Taliban. And what if Iran violates the agreement? Ground troops as well- or will an air assault suffice?
Gotta ask these question of a War Hawk such as yourself, since there is a finite amount of money and young people to fight in multiple quagmires around the world. Are you proposing a draft in a Presidential Election cycle?..

George, I do not reject global warming, the planet has been warming cooling for eons. I reject the idea that humans can control global warming by any significant amount by reducing carbon emissions. The numbers do not work out. CO2 is a trace gas in the environment when compared to water vapor, which makes up 97% of greenhouse warming, thus the impact of CO2 is miniscule. The computer models have major water vapor parameters missing, clouds and cloud formation dynamics, are two major missing parts of the global warming models.
I am not basing my views on global cooling on computer models. I am relying on the historical solar cycles, earth rotational cycles, and related earth dynamics, and the impact these cycles have produced in the past, warm periods and cold periods, one has always followed the other. We are now in a warm period, following the little ice age and it is time to return to a cool, if not cold period. The only uncertainty is when?

The liberals thought Hooray! Reid is telling how Romney didn’t pay taxes and Reid said he got it from “anonymous”. The left likes liars and supports them like they are with Hill-Billy. * Climate Change (No one believes this is not happening)
* Global Warming (Serious differences about the trend)
* Anthropogenic Global Warming (as opposed to Natural)
* Preventable Global Warming (from whichever cause)
And therefore he interchanges these terms indiscriminately apprearing not to realize that each requires a different body of science to support, and different public policies to address. Sadly he is joined by tens of millions of others on all sides of the debate which by no means is over, since it hasn’t even been focused on an accepted topic.

On the other hand, fetal tissue has been used since the 1930’s. One of the earliest advances with fetal tissue was to use fetal kidney cells to create the first poliovirus vaccines, which are now estimated to save 550,000 lives worldwide every year.
Body parts from an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy have saved the lives of children who are badly wanted. Your solution is to force a woman to have a child she is unable to provide for and let a wanted child die?
The Center for Medical Progress who released the video have admitted it was editted. The full, unedited video they cite as evidence shows a Planned Parenthood executive repeatedly saying its clinics want to cover their costs, not make money, when donating fetal tissue from abortions for scientific research.

PP never did mammograms, never claimed to do mammograms. Don’t know who started that ridiculous line of thinking actually.
PP does womens physicial exams, breast exams, pap smears, etc. Its a doctors office, not a radiology office. Mammograms are done by highly specialized Board Certified radiologists in specialized mammography practices or within departments at hospitals.

Jon 220pm – Don’t get lathered up about something I didn’t say or even imply. My recommendation for a more communicative name for the organization stands – PAP has a nice ring to it. But for the record, PAP’s use and your echoing of the fraudulent “3%” stat has been covered well in these pages, but I do understand it’s your job to trot it out again.
The 3% does not reflect the ratio of their efforts or their budget devoted to abortions. They perform about 40% of the nation’s abortions which comes to well over 300K/yr. Prepping for and performing abortions by far dominates everything they do.

With the report that the gunman in Oregon asked the religion of people in the class before shooting has ominous implications and why aren’t they releasing the name of the shooter?? George 1:11pm The image that Carly Fiorina refers to is represented to have been a live baby that they wanted to keep alive to harvest it’s brain when the image is of a stillborn baby that died shortly after delivery (at 16 weeks, it could not survive even with modern medical advances). There were hours of tape that were edited down to a few minutes. They took out the statements by PP spokespeople that they do not sell body parts for profit. This has been verified by the makers of the video, the mother of the stillborn baby, and investigations by several states who found that PP did nothing illegal despite the outrageous claims.
Still the cricket chorus on the good that comes from fetal tissue. Would any of you tell the parents of a child that could be saved using fetal tissue, too bad? BTW, Ben Carson made use of fetal tissue in his practice. It’s used for many good purposes.

Reporter for Roseberg Beacon just said that witness student texted – gunman lined up students asked their religion, if they said some kind of Christian they got shot in the head. If they did not respond or said non Christian they got shot in the leg.
