PaulE 1054am – I thought that the debate last night was in many ways the first real debate we have seen among political candidates in many a year – CNN did a better job than FN in letting the candidates actually mix it up and respond to each other repeatedly in an orderly manner. The event was very revelatory as it was intended to be, instead of being just a sequence of separate statements from participants. Why do you use the disparaging “debate” to refer to the event?
Wanna talk about the Democrats’ headlong rush to socialism, talk about Moonbeam’s potential candidacy. The Dems will have no center-left candidate to field once Hillary has her tent folded for her.

Paul Emery is scared sh*tless and this is his way to feel better. The evening was great! We got to see and hear quite a range of ideas. Unlike the democrats who will all want to give our money away, these 11 people show that Americans who are smart and Patriotic still exist. Democrats and liberals want to be Europeans, even Obama. This was a good night for America.

Missed the debate myself, but figured I will get caught up on it through osmosis. Judging by Paul’s 10:54am, it sounds like it went pretty good.
How many debates are there? The Dems decided to cut 20 debates from the last time around and now they are only going to showcase Hillary in that unflattering setting 6 times. She simply does not shine her brightest in debate settings. Think she will share her cookie receives again? That always has given her favorbilities a bump in the past. I can’t wait for the real debates with Bernie and Hillary and some mayor to commence.

The Pubbers ticket that could win would be Kasich-Rubio but there’s not a remote chance that will happen. My prediction of Biden-Warren for the Dems would be unbeatable. By the time the election comes around they would appeal because of Warren’s economic message and Bidens maturity and general good nature. Bernie will easily endorse and support that ticket. . The Repubs are in general snarley and insecure once they get off their anti Obama wagon. No doubt they will opt to s moderate turned right candidate that will feel as uncomfortable in that role as did Romney in 12. At this point Walker, the incredible shrinking man, is disappearing and leaving only Bush, Rubio and Kasich with any sort of middle of the road appeal that wins ellections. The bible thumpers, Cruz Huckabee and Santorum (now below 1%) will bliss and flame out. The others are unelectable in the big leagues.

One more thing Obama is doing about 25 points better than Bush and this stage of his Presidency according to the Gallup daily tracking poll which means he may be an asset in the election by doing what he does best-motivate the voters. PaulE 1241pm – Funny, I don’t see anything “center-left” in a Biden forced to carry eight years of far left baggage from the Obama-Biden administration. Nor could he repudiate any of it with Warren continuing to pull the ticket even further into the dire doldrums of socialism. But, of course, all of that could be managed if they successfully pull off the redefinition of America’s political center to their gruberized constituency which has been demonstrably vetted.

Its as Center/Left as any program could be- partnering and using the private sector as a core element? Record deportations of illegal immigrants? Drone attacks on terrorists? Total 100% support for unconstitutional govt. surveillance programs? A balanced nuclear deal with Iran which has teeth and can be rescinded? Loosening of MJ laws?..oh wait..

Between the Party inviting in the likes of Trump, and letting him publically weaken their likely Nominee(s) and insult big voting blocs of minorities and women, and now… the idiot timing of possibly shutting down the government? Are these people freaking nuts? With a weakened Hillary you guys are doing everything in your power to grab defeat from the possible jaws of victory. What about your first love Hillary? Do you think she will simply walk away? One call and she will able to avoid any real inquiries into one of her many many notable achievements until 2017. You seem to forget she is your front runner and front runner by far in the national tracking polls. She is that woman they had to physically drag out of the White House leaving claw marks on the curtains and taking government owned White House furnishings and one of a kind historical gifts to prior Presidents.
Nay, your frontrunner will not just vanish into thin air. The Walking Wounded cares too much for struggling families to ever turn her back on them, no matter how much the Nervous Niellies wish her to go away.
You are stuck with Hillary. If I was stuck with Hillary, I, too, would be playing Plan B What If games as well.

I voted for Carter against Ford so I have no room to talk. The “first love” was meant for Jon who not too long ago in the past adored her as well qualified and basically she would stomp on the dust bin of history, i.e., the evil but tiny Republicans. I should keep up with the times.
BTW, Gary Hart won 26 of the 50 Dem Party primaries, which in and of itself is the lone good argument for these excruciating long never ending election cycles.
Biden/Warren would be a formidable ticket. Old School liberal that knows his way around The Hill and any bill he does not like combined with a female Sanders named Warren. Biden should get all those fractured splinters back into the Big Tent in the mid-west and south, upper and lower plains, rust belt, Southwest, and most of the Chicanos…er….Hispanics…er…whatever they call themselves in 2015.
Strong ticket indeed, but I am hoping you guys steal a page out of the Circular Firing Squad and run a Sanders/Sharpton or a Samders/Nader ticket if Ralph still has the strength. Ralph did quite nicely in picking small tech stocks back in the day. Would like to pick his brain. Or perhaps a Warren/Brown ticket would rock my world.

PaulE 125pm – Could be. However, I don’t see them all even hoping that Trump will be nominated. Trump is primarily a proxy for a conservative contingency frustrated by GOP business as usual. They intend to impact the platform and remaining more mainstream candidates. In short, today Trump is a pre-election protest vote.
Can’t say that for Bernie’s supporters (you probably can). Those people voted for Obama twice, and would usher in Bernie or Lizzie in a heartbeat.

Tozer done got the wrong person. Never a Hillary fan, not here, not anywhere. fish even apologized to me for the same mistake. I did however at one time (probably June-ish) say would still beat every Republican candidate, no matter who they pick. Who can deny she’s had a bad summer? But with the chaos of the Repubs, I still think she could still eek out a win, even in weakened condition. Nothing legally will happen to her between now and November 2016, but of course the political beatings will continue. She is taking it all in and still has a massive voting base that is loyal. I prefer the Biden/Warren ticket.
Is it really better to be Carly Fiorina with a horrible, quantifiably disastrous record as CEO of HP, ending in universally agreed upon firing? Funny to see Fiorina talking about accomplishments…

Well, Bernie is all in going for the whole enchilada. Think about it. At 74, it’s now or never for him. No second chances and no, he ain’t going for the VP spot either. The moment is now or never for Bernie in this anti-establishment mood. Shake the tree, Bernie, and shake it good cause this is your last hurrah. It’s the only chance you have to fulfill your personal dream.
Here is some bones. I like what Bernie says about the shameful treatment of vets by the Government run VA. I like that he says things clearly, plainly, and spouts whatever he believes passionately. Think he is genuine.
I read something that stuck. The article said Trump is the same guy 4 years ago as he is now as he will be 4 years from now. I feel Bernie would fit that description as well.
So, IF I was counseling one of the girls IF she asked before marriage, I would tell her to look at the guy you love as he is now, not what he will be when “he changes” or when
“you change him.” That is who you are going to marry. The guy you are in love with now. Are you going to marry the guy who is, or the guy you want him to be?
So, look at Bernie. He won’t change. Look at Trump. That is exactly who he is last night and next year. Lizzy, well, she does have that opportunistic bent that Hillary and Bill have…some call it a shameless opportunistic defect. Don’t know why she ever allowed herself to be hailed as the first female person of color to hold the….blah, blah, blah. Brian Williams comes to mind. That is one big flaw that turns me off. She should have claimed to be black or brown or yellow, but never a Redskin. Rubs me the wrong way.

Carly would single handed beat any democrat candidate. She is top notch. Even her HP Board critic who voted to fire her just wrote a OP-ED in the NYT and said he was wrong. So all the libnuts like “jon” have to start over about the HP issues. But of course they won’t.

It’s not fair!! Well, money talks and bull puckey walks. Last night the 35 year old CNN aired the most watched program in that groundbreaking 24/7 cable news outlet’s history. Beat out Larry King’s highest ever viewed show by about 10 million, lol. 24 million or so viewers. This e-mail thang with Rodham just isn’t nearly as much of an attraction, neither is airing The Bern’s daily appearances.
Wonder who is going to cry aghast about Bernie’s appearance at Liberty Christian College, the apex of the evangelical’s heart? You know, guilt by association and all that. I thought the latest debate was very entertaining.The Ronny/Nancy wannabe bobble-heads were doing their best to invoke Reaganism and align themselves with The Rawhide. Funny thing though, with all the chest beating and posturing about how pro-Israel, pro-defense, pro-nuclear, pro-massive military buildup they all were, not one of these “best and brightest” of the Conservatives mentioned how they would pay for all this crap given the small government, less taxes, etc. mantra constantly chanted by the Right.
