   Jon, my man. Your guy Is catching fire! The likable and endearing Uncle Joe is kicking butt without lifting nary a finger or shotgun. Already got 14% of the Dem vote just for being Joe. That’s seven fold higher than his numbers last time he decided to look like a fool and run for President. This is like Christmas in July. Slick Willy is fit to be tied.
   Guess the wailing from your side of the tracks is more proof that you fine folks over there are beginning to wake up to the fact that you are indeed stuck with Rodham.    BTW, glaciers have been in general retreat since the end of the Little Ice age circa 1850… what model SUV was popular during the Civil War, anyway?
   One of my favorite retreating glacier stories was involved in the Inca Child sacrifice stories back in the Clinton years, the late 90’s. Remember the murdered teenaged girl who was so well preserved Bill made a crack that he’d take her out? Horrible that unprecedented global warming had melted the ice… except that folks (like “Jon”) couldn’t put 2 and 2 together and consider the snow and ice level 500 years earlier was about the same place with no Gulfstream V in sight.
   If alarmist science was solid (the current estimates for CO2 sensitivity among the Warmists still range from 2 degrees to 5 degrees for a doubling of CO2 after well over a $100 billion spent ostensibly for climate research. No bloody consensus where it would count, so they have to rely on scare stories about glaciers being smaller than they were than during the Little Ice Age. No shit, Sherlock.
   All the while physicists and other physical scientists are narrowing their estimates down to around 1.2C for a doubling of CO2, and even IPCC brand scientists agree there is no catastrophe below 2C.
   “Jon”, it gives me great pleasure to contemplate what you’ll be doing when the Emperor’s New Climate comes crashing down and rains on the progressive parade. The Climate Caliphate will have to wait.

   I know it would be a lot to ask for people to consider the impact of man on the global ecosystem….and I would be the first to admit much more terrestrial carbon is stored in the oceans and sedimentary deposits than forests…but relative to Walt’s observation earlier in this thread I ran across this study recently published on global deforestation and I thought I would make the link available here.

   What people like Walt and Greg miss is the fact that in these systems a 1%-2% change in the carbon cycle can have huge consequences….because they think of our atmosphere and biosphere in human terms…1%, what can that do? It is nothing.
   Now the disclaimer…no I would not trade human existence for forests….every comment on the environment here automatically requires a prophylactic disclaimer… but the hubris of thinking that we can alter the biosphere without consequence seems to me to be as fraught with folly.

    First, it is important to note that Greg statement is only partly accurate….most climate scientists today are predicting that the warming estimates are low, due to caution and uncertainty in the figure, that a roughly 3-5 degree C increase ( 6-10 degree F) is baked into the system already from a doubling of CO2 in the atmosphere, and that the consequences would be catastrophic for forests, water supply and extreme weather events.
    The fact that we have seen these levels in the past is really irrelevant. Yes, we have had more carbon in our atmosphere, but there was no human civilization then, and the cost of dealing with the consequences is what will cripple human civilization.

    UH OH! Hillarys director of info technology for her 08 campaign and later an employee of the Dept of States Chief of Technology’s office has taken the 5th twice. Once recently to the FBI after the IG criminal referral and now in writing in response to the subpoena for the Sept 10th hearing. Considering he continued to run the server after installing it and while a state dept employee (even did on site work while a fed employee). No wonder he is taking the 5th. A state dept. employee knowingly helped dodge the mandated security precautions for his former candidate. The list of possible violations for Mr. Pagliano is startling. The implications of how long he worked for Clinton and his being at the set up of the server and his actions while a federal employee means its time for Mr Pagliano to buy some soap on a rope! LOL

    Hep, our gal Rodham keeps making the news. Vince Foster is so yesterday, God rest his soul.
    Remember when Horndog Wiily was videoed knocking on Jennifer Flower’s door to her apartment and entering inside? That caused the Clinton’s to immediately do the 60 Minutes interview after he tossed his hat into the ring. Hillary wore a nice pink headband and stood by her man. After the unknown male who videoed taped Wet Willy coming in and out of Ms. Flower’s love pad from the apartment across the stairs, mysteriously some goons knocked on his door, beat him to a bloody pulp and ransacked his dwelling. The only thing the thugs took was some video tapes after smashing both the camera and the poor dude’s skull.

When I came back out later I noticed something was gone from under the workbench. An empty spot if you will. Some low life yellow bellied varmit stole my two cases of Billy Beer. Heck, nobody even wants anything Carter anyways and no market for it today, but it cut at the time. Still looking for that “Nixon’s The One” bumper sticker. Put the Lib grand baby on it.     OK, in regards to Repub political candidates. I’ll go on record today stating that Donald Trump has peaked in his polling as of yesterday. Will not go above 30% ever again in the average of national polls. The pack will catch him eventually- when- depends on how many more gaffes occur in short order. That interview with ultra conservative host Hugh Hewitt was not good yesterday, nor was his pledge- which was like the sign of the apocalypse to many. Now the big money donors are going to be coming in like sharks this Fall to take major bites of soon to be wounded Trump. Mark the tape. Bush has stepped it up too, and I predict they will ram home the flaw with clownish comedians inhabiting the WH.

    I believe you have to be in the US legally, and as an alien have a work permit (‘green card’) to be legally hired. Asking an applicant his citizenship status is a fast way to vet him without getting into the immigrant/H1-B weeds. No one should get their undies in a bundle over such a question.

    While I have no “dog in this fight” as such I think it should be noted that as recently as about 6 weeks ago you were assuring the board that Hillary Clinton was not only going to be the nominee but was certain to be elected. “Book it” or “Mark the Tape” were your sign offs for that bold prediction. Since then you have stated on a regular basis that “Donald Trump is finished”, “He’s so over!”, “Stick a fork in him….!” etc.
    You might just want to shut up…..every time you open your mouth he gains 15 percentage points in the polls.

    fish, there is very little chance that was me guaranteeing Hillary Clinton as a nominee. If you can find it, please let me know. I did say at the time she was the clear front-runner, but I’ve never liked her, and was talkinga bout Biden getting in (and you responded very positively to that).
    Regardless, you can mark the tape for my Trump prediction today. Maybe I’ll be wrong. He may spike up to 35% with the polling lag, and then come back down. My prediction of a deflating balloon on his candidacy remains.
