“Car wreck” you say? WOW…LOL!! Desperation is setting. ( Called that one.. Gutter snipe comment) Train wreck better describes the Progressive Presidential rat race.
Let me remind you.. I’m done with the GOP, as are PLENTY others. Hence the rise of Trump.
( still haven’t the gray matter to comprehend that?)
The Tea Party will replace the GOP. That’s even MORE bad news for the Commie Left.
Those straws your grasping at have been greased. (and not with hemp oil)
BTW Illegals can’t vote. Neither can non citizens (green card holders) You DO understand that,,,, right?LikeLike

A fresh poster! COOOL… Gallop has been wrong before. I give you the Colorado recalls.
Gallop has a funny way of “rigging” the results to get the desired “outcome”.
But HAY! Believe what ya’ like.LikeLike

One more thing that will help Trump. Remember. Some like to say he’s actually a DEM.
( a convert from the dark side) So that should get plenty of the slightly Left of center
to vote for him.LikeLike

Lets talk real numbers, Hispanics vote at the lowest rate of the major ethnic groups as low as 11% last cycle. In CA last time total voter turnout was 25%. USF reports that non Hispanic whites make up 39% of the population but 54% of voting age population. The key is they are 75% of likely voters. A hard review of the numbers shows that losing the Hispanic vote can be more than mitigated by driving out the base. So it does not really matter that half of Hispanics have a negative view of Trump if he gets his base out. Don’t see Hillary or Bernie doing any better than the historical averages with Hispanic voters. CA TX FL and so on may have large populations but if they don’t vote it does not matter does it? So if Trump gets the usual 35-40% of Hispanics he wins. Rasmussen had a poll with Hispanics ranking immigration last in top issues. Economy, healthcare and education came in ahead, they further reported that 60% of registered Hispanics favor tougher immigration enforcement. 56% of Hispanic voters oppose allowing illegal aliens to obtain federal benefits before they go through the process.

Walt, I feel your pain but whichever Tea Party you think is the real thing isn’t going to be taking over the GOP.
We are many moons away from an actual caucus or a primary vote and the adults in the GOP are going to be making sober judgments as to who they want to be the next President. When Trump gets a difficult question he goes into his insulting bully persona that won’t wear well, and the more detailed the campaigns get, the more frustrated he will become. He bullsh*ts with out and out mean spirited falsehoods when he gets a question he doesn’t want to answer, or can’t answer without a little bit of humble pie.
Trump will never get a majority of a real GOP vote in the primaries and as other candidates start dropping away, the anybody but Trump movement will get stronger and at the moment one poll, targeting registered GOP voters likely to actually vote in the primary, Trump is #1 with a total of 16%, meaning 84% weren’t supporting Trump.
I think the ones with no governing experience have little hope to win this time around. Kasich is a solid candidate (and was a star in the GOP during the Gingrich years), so is Walker. Both have experience as a governor and run marathon campaigns, not sprints.LikeLike
-
If Romney got 70% of the Hispanic vote he still would have lost. Turnout is key. PO the base and you lose. After McCain and Romney did the careful campaigns they got to sit home on the day after election day.
I say we take our “pen and phone” and change some things. Take back our airwaves just as the FCC changed the laws for the internet. All we do is put the right thinking people on the panels/committees, etc. Nothing is in concrete. Leftista’s only tell everyone else that those things can’t change and then tell us all the Constitution is a “living” document. That is why the left is headed to obscurity with the Whig p[arty.
Also, liberals seem to, when pressed, to do their own work, complain they can’t find it. Golly Gee! I think they are in drunken stupors most of time and emerge periodically to toss grenades like a couple of them here. Ever wonder why these libs never post on other blogs? What a hoot!LikeLike

Which gang of white sheet wearing RACIST HATERZ…yeah I’ll say it…… said the following?:
[W]e must remain a nation of laws. We cannot tolerate illegal immigration and we must stop it. For years […], Washington talked tough but failed to act….[O]ur borders might as well not have existed. The border was under-patrolled, and what patrols there were, were under-equipped. Drugs flowed freely. Illegal immigration was rampant. Criminal immigrants, deported after committing crimes in America, returned the very next day to commit crimes again.

I do wish all the local right wing politicos on here the best in your Latino analysis! Don, that’s NOT exactly the conclusion of the Republican Party analysts after the Mittster went down hard. Didn’t hear a peep in 2013 about Repubs staying home at the time so that the socialist, pinko commie President from Kenya or Indonesia was guaranteed another 4 years! That giant, motivated right wing base always stays home in the Presidential elections it seems, but mysteriously always turns out in the midterms? LOL. But hey, I do agree with your point that Trump is sprinting the early stages of a marathon. Boardman and I have pointed this out a few times to Walt, who insists marathons are run this way successfully! Good luck!

actually also agree in large part with Gregory’s political analysis at the end of his 4:17. Trump will NEVER get over 50% of Repub voters- never, nada. His unfavorables are scary, and those people aren’t ever going to buy into his circus act. He’s playing to the Crazies, as the President correctly points out. Seems to be a fair amount of crazies in the Repub base (30% or so), so that was an interesting revelation we got this summer!

If Trump is up in any public opinion poll it’s because he’s all the horse race reporters are talking about and the populists among the “low information voters” are eating it up.
The horses haven’t even been unloaded from their trailers yet and the only real race is for donors, which Trump claims not to be interested in.LikeLike

George, back to your initial statement pondering the 25% unemployment rate among black youth (whatever that definition is) and a lack of field hands in agriculture. I am not sure what your point is, other than to point out that jobs are available for these people and wonder why aren’t they filling them. There, of course, could be innuendo that some people could read into it such as laziness, welfare dependency, and so on.
Here is something from Harper’s that may add to the confusion: since 1993 the suicide rate amount white youth ages 5-11 has gone down by 32%. For black youth the rate has increased by 87%. So the larger question has to be what is going on within the black communities for these young people to see no way out, especially at such a young age, that, apparently isn’t going on within white communities?LikeLike
-
Well, Joe K, suicide is against the law. Boy, they are certainly a bunch of criminals no doubt. Crime runs rampant in the inner city ghettos. I prefer to be a law abiding citizen, except for when I was dredging with a whole bunch of people this summer. Only a 200 dollar fine if caught, which ain’t likely since no Fish and Game dudette gets out of her car, lol. Hey, sometime freeze frame the recent fires in the in the river canyons and you will notice wetsuits hanging over limbs drying out. No dredging? Haha, that’s a good one. Go further in behind the locked gates and you will find bull dozers tearing it up. Gold rules, libs drool. Screw you, you don’t see me running around offing myself, now do ya?? Life is great here in Redneck Hallow.
What do you seeing going on in white cracker communities that you don’t see in the dark communities? Well, how about the chance to fill the mason jar with gold. Real gold, not that fake stuff they peddle out of the back of their cars in the sprawling ghetto known as The Liberal States of America. Gold, Joe K, gold is what I see here in Sleepy Hallow.
Of course it goes without saying to not drink the water downstream of any Lib community.LikeLike

from Joe the K – “I am not sure what your point is, other than to point out that jobs are available for these people and wonder why aren’t they filling them.”
By jingo, the lad’s figured it out! Yes, Joe, that was his point. Maybe you could enlighten us as to why you think this is so.
At least something beyond the fact that “In just the 5-year period between 2008 and 2012 there were 41 suicide deaths among black boys,…”
Age 5 -11, Joe. 41 in 5 years. It has absolutely nothing to do with the high rate of unemployment of young blacks 18 years old and up.
“So the larger question has to be what is going on within the black communities for these young people to see no way out, especially at such a young age, that, apparently isn’t going on within white communities?”
Answer:
White boys have leaders like Senator Tim Scott and former Congressman Col Allen West. Black kids get thug rap ‘stars’ and garbage like Al Sharpton.
Next question?LikeLike

I like Star Parker. A black sister gaming the system, chose welfare. Quit her job and kicked back on the dole. But, she looked around and said “this is so wrong.” Took an adjustment weening herself off the easy money and set out to follow her moral compass. Once she made it a few steps, her life has never been better. She is no longer a Dem that the libbies can take for granted. Rather, she has the party of immorality in her cross hairs. She is firing back at the Party of Stupid.

“The voters of America have been staying home in every election.”
But they weren’t conservative voters. Conservatives came out and voted against their enemy Obama in 2012. The hate for Obama was at its peak.
In 2015 his poll numbers are some of the best for any 8 year President in history winding down. That’s a fact. The ones who didn’t turn out in 2012 are voters that care about their paychecks. Trump mainly focuses on the racist elements, anti-immigration factions, and frustrations with the changing world we live in. Bernie Sanders will appeal more to the people who stay home in a general election.LikeLike

Now what we need to start working on is how to help our homeless here in town by approving a relaxing of our zoning codes so we can establish a community center/shelter. Right now only Light Industrial is designated for this use. According to California State Law (SB2), cities are mandated to be flexible in their zoning regulations to incorporate shelters. Its time the old order realizes this and moves forward with the times and current state law. That’s not going to go over well in certain circles.

Some key sentences in the NYT piece on guns that “Jon” thinks is so important…
“Australia is a model. In 1996, after a mass shooting there, the country united behind tougher firearm restrictions. The Journal of Public Health Policy notes that the firearm suicide rate dropped by half in Australia over the next seven years, and the firearm homicide rate was almost halved.”
Note he’s not claiming a decrease in suicides, or a decrease in homicide rates. Just a drop in death rates where a gun is involved. Is the tragedy that someone dies, or is the method used for the suicide or homicide important and the death secondary?
For those who think the 2nd is best forgotten, it’s the gun. For the rest of us, it’s the death.LikeLike
