Liberalism is what ‘smart’ looks like to stupid people. – from a talk radio call in

George Rebane

Apropos to the above bagatelle, we have a letter to the 22aug15 Union from a Ms Kuczora.  The good lady intends to enlighten the “many ignorant Americans” about socialism, which in her dim lights reveals itself as “an economic system – not a political system” that is “intended to reduce economic injustice and poverty.  Political and economic systems can be mixed and matched.”  In the realworld that Ms Kuczora should some day visit, political systems define the ownership of the means to produce wealth and the methods of its subsequent re/distribution.  All political systems and their supportive economic systems are joined at the hip – e.g. communist governance does not support an economy based on the Bastiat Triangle (q.v.).

In the same issue of the Union, president of the Nevada County Democratic Central Committee, Mr Jim Firth gets it almost right when discussing the populist popularity of Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump.  He understands that “given the number and complexity of ‘Communities of Interest’ in the United States, it makes sense to have many more political parties.”  But his answer of forming a “third or fourth major political party” misses the mark.  The correct answer is the concurrent formation of at least two more major political parties.  As all RR readers understand, forming only a third party guarantees that the established major party, ideologically more distal from the new third party, will win.

FedPredictsThe federal government is incompetent in almost every area of human enterprise, especially in its understanding of the economy and economics.  In the latter area its top mavens are concentrated in the Executive Branch and the Federal Reserve.  To these worthies the many decades of Keynsian failures are invisible, and they continue to “rely on Keynsian models” to mismanage our common weal.  One need not look further than the recent twenty years of the Fed’s zigging while the economy zagged.  The nearby table of results gives some measure of their understanding of what’s going on (more here).

The student debt debacle under the feds has now gotten totally out of hand – very few of the borrowers are repaying any of it.  6.9M of them made no payment at all in the last year as Obama’s over-taxed, over-borrowed, over-regulated, and jobless economy is making a mockery of its ‘recovery’, daily touted ever more loudly by his resident lackies in the Democratic Party and the lamestream.  As reported here before, Hillary plans to make hay with this economic disaster to buy Millenials’ votes through her new College Compact entitlement that will be a massive pocket picking of the shrinking fraction of Americans who actually pay taxes – “first you encourage student debt, then you write it off on taxpayers”.

NYC socialist governance at work.  Everyone is familiar with what the city’s new idiot mayor Bill de Blasio has done to destroy the crime suppression work of the last twenty years.  And the beat goes on as the city reverts to its dismal past all in the name of ‘social justice’ which is also disappearing rapidly under this new troop of collectivists.  For more, google ‘NYC crime, de Blasio’.

Even I didn’t think Mayor Cuckold could take the city off the rails this quickly! I see Phd theses analyzing the phenomenon for years into the future!

I might suggest Venezuela for noted political theorist Kuczora. A perfect opportunity to watch a system “intended to reduce economic injustice and poverty” in action.

She believes what she says because she believes she will be the commissar. Simple as that.
Oh and I have been writing responses to these lib nuts on the Union’s site. I am doing a back and forth with the guy defending Linda Campbell’s jibberish outburst at LaMalfa’s town hall. These people are loons!

Oh and as far as the Fed is concerned. They pmped three and a half trillion paper dollars into bonds and now the bubble is bursting at the Stock Market. You can only print so much phony money. And no one there learned the lesson of Japan!

Is socialism an economic system or a political system? Neither, it the religion of the secularists.

I enjoy reading the feedback at the bottom of these links. Heck, jon’s link about Walker had the object of the link tweet about a Walker Presidentcy, lol.
My favorite comment on your Ven link is:
    CynicLaureate’s picture
The problem is that if 51% vote Socialist, the other 49% also get the same government.

How bout you go get a colon correction the ‘jon’. How long have you been in the markets? Were you ever in a professional financial position? Otherwise blow it out an orifice with the 0 rhetoric and obvious lack of depth of knowledge on the subject. 93 million out of the workforce and 0 giving away the farm in everyway possible to hobble the nation for a generation to allow his bff’s to ascend and us to redistribute on an epic scale. NO THANKS comrade.

I would say a 1.5 trillion dollar in one week loss is a bit more than a correction.

Don, crash or correction? Or Big Correction that feels like a crash? Obama keeps saying concerning the recovery that we are almost there, will be there soon. Problem is he is saying it from the driver’s seat in a parked car. Are we there yet, Dad? O can’t get no respect. This new normal does not feel like the old normal, rest assured.
Nice lead in to getting no respect. This the lib’s version on the war on women.

A dilatant could easily only look at our stock market like the ‘jon’ however any serious macro view has very volatile strategic issues in our face. Chinas bubble (and their others to follow) magnified by devaluations rippling across the globe and commodities roiling state coffers of friends and enemies. The Russians cant afford to build the pipeline to china or any of the others to avoid Ukraine. Iran saw the 0 red line in Syria and negotiated accordingly. Too many dem pussies in the Senate so no override of the veto will be forthcoming. What will 0 be handing over to the next Prez? When soros is buying a world basic commodity like coal what does that tell us? Manipulation notwithstanding.

Indeed Todd. Read last night that a terrorist on the train was begging the Ameticans to give him his gun back. I kid you not. Sobbing like a baby begging the Uncouth Cowboys for his gun back. Another belly laugh.
Newsflash you could see coming a mile away. Concerning The Big Apple’s crime wave, CRIME is up in all cities run by libs. A spike if you will. Opps, more like a hockey stick and it is widespread and the trajectory is up up and away. It’s growing like gangrene and had even has commenced to spread outside of the urban jungles into nice communities, some run by non-liberals.

It did, Dr. Rebane, but I just wanted to drive it home. Besides, the Mayor has too many links to even start to post. Do like his “war on women” at Timesquare. No more painted ladies posing and charging for having a snapshot of them. Thicker than hot dog carts. Did learn that being naked from the waist up in public is ok in NYC. Yes, sex sales and the Painted Lady DiBasso links were too hard to resist.
Yep, you have covered this topic in depth. However, not all of us actually read what you post. 🙂

re BillT 1038am – Mr Tozer brings up an interesting point. Over the years I’ve discovered that running a blog is not for sissies, especially monitoring its comment streams and responding to readers, a task which I consider a responsibility of the host since it is my thoughts, etc that I hang out there to swing in the wind. RR also has a regularly emptied sandbox (a unique feature?) for readers’ exchange on a potpourri of topics I have missed. Additionally, RR invites readers to submit lengthier ‘bylines’ for posting on subjects they feel strongly about.
However, if certain readers ignore my topical posts, and choose not to critique or build on them, then all here is for naught and for a waste of time and effort. I sincerely invite those readers to start their own blogs or go waste the time of other bloggers. Hope these sentiments don’t sound too harsh, even though they are heartfelt.

In gay Pariee’ A couple of our guys dolled out some American justice. ( Took his gun and beat him with it. That’s going to leave a mark.) And One from Sac. no less.
The French have yet to throw a parade, but did give them a gold plated coin for their efforts. Once again, America saves the French. ( oh… and one Brit)
As for the stock market, lets see what tomorrow brings. The damage may not be over.
Even my “safe” bets got hit hard. The only winner in this blood bath has been gold,, but not as much as I expected.
Sooner or later the bottom feeders will be the ones making the killing. They will be the ones to reverse the bleeding.
It time our “poor” guys get in on the action. They bitch about getting “their cut” of the money. ( “jon” and JoeK ,, that means you ) Now have your chance ” fire sale” prices and the opportunity to get fat, full and happy.
    Pick your bluechip stocks.
Yes of OWS crew… now is your real chance to OWS.
Then again,,, a return of the soup lines of old? the stock market is toast?
What next? massive layoffs because the money is “all gone”?
Yup,, LIB policies just may have triggered the collapse… Great Job….

Gold did go up about 25 or so bucks in two days. Still… Not as much as it “should have”.
That means “cash”(in digital form) is sitting somewhere. Money just doesn’t disappear.
    ( except maybe in China)
We now have a huge glut of cheap natural gas. If the gas Co.’s like PG&E had a lick of sense, they would be looking to connect every house near a pipeline, laying new pipe, to get even more customers. But I don’t see that. They have been leaving that cost to the developers. ( I was one of those pipelayers when building subdivisions.)
Back in my Wildwood days, PG&E wanted to plumb the place for NG… At OUR expense.
We told them to pound sand. 10,000 per lot, plus 5000 hookup fee,,,FU!! If they had done so at Their expense, they would already be turning a profit.
Thanks to gov BS, the cost of laying new line is high. Years of studies, permits, ECO bastard lawsuits, NIMBYism, scare tactics, and other job killing crap. And of course, high dollar union monkey business.

Some LIBS DO see the light and jump ship.
Now to my fellow “rightys”. This story might apply to you as well. I was “born” GOP.
Then I watched the GOP become something else. No, it’s not may dad’s GOP. Dad was one of the top GOP “dogs” (unpaid though) in the Co, AND the state. Yes, I know a thing or two, and have always kept a watch on things. ( I digress)
    So read this..
    http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/08/24/gop-trump-haters-stop-your-free-bleeding/
We have some REALLY smart people here. I commend you for that, and those smarts have severed you well. BUT………
You guys can over think, over analyze, over etc…. Sometimes, the “keep it simple” needs to be applied. AND,, your “heard” instincts need to be kept in check, or off lemming cliff you may go.
The GOP is broke, and in need of repair. The Tea Party was the first call of the “repair man”, and open season was declared on RINOS. Why stop now? Some are falling into ” My guy isn’t..” You sure about that?
I learned a LONG time ago, what someone wears is not the best way to judge “success”, or “smarts”.
I don’t own a suit, let alone a tie. But I have made a good living “digging ditches” (so to speak). I also was smart enough NOT to get suckered into the sub prime scam.. How many “smarter the me” took the bait, hook, line and sinker? ( Even a ditch digger read that as bad news)
OK,, enough with the sales pitch.
We need a drastic change in direction, and the GOP is politics as usual.
Trump is that breath of fresh air, and daylight for us “trapped” in the mine tunnel
    of politics.
Notice how your GOP runners are copying Trump? ” uh ho,, what he’s doing is working I better try it too”. All of a sudden the GOPers grew a somewhat stiffer spine. ( not so apologetic.) anchor baby? Bush grew a pair. ( If Trump did it, I better too)
It’s evident the GOP is playing “follow the leader”. The Anger of the GOP towards Trump is coming out like they are LIBS.
But I WILL quote the the burned out hipsters… ” Down with the establishment!”
Keep the RINO hunt on, and let the rise of the Tea Party continue.
