Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez murdered four US Marines in Chattanooga before dying in a gunfight with police.  The FBI immediately took charge of the investigation, discovered some culpatory tweets from unknown locations, and briefed the President.  Our president then assumed his long-established stance of immediate amelioration by identifying this obvious raghead as just a “lone gunman” about whom there is an ongoing federal investigation.  The words ‘radical Islam’ again never left his lips, nor were any obvious dots connected to let the nation know that our law enforcement is not as dense about what is happening in the world as is the White House.  In fact, more astute commentators this afternoon are correctly concluding that Obama did everything he could to “disconnect the dots.”

Contributing to the President’s pabulum was Ray Mabus, the U.S. Navy secretary, who called the shootings “both devastating and senseless.”  Senseless??!!  Again one more administration official from another planet.  When considered from the viewpoint of organizations like ISIS or Al-Qaida, these long-promised attacks make all the sense in the world.  Yet the administration disconnects another set of dots with inane statements like this.  At least he got the ‘devastating’ part right.

What surprised me most was the Chattanooga mayor telling the nation that he “was surprised” that such an attack could have happened.  Where in hell has he been?  Even those poor souls who could not add two and two have been told from the highest law enforcement levels that murderous radical Muslims are living among us; that we should expect such lone wolf attacks whether directed from overseas or self-motivated.  Polling America’s Muslims has revealed that hundreds of thousands of so-called moderate Muslims believe perpetrating violence in America to achieve Islamic ends is fully justified. (more here)  Abdulazeez was by no means the first moderate Muslim turned murderous Islamist within our borders, and you can bet the ranch that he will not be the last.

As a footnote, it also turned out that the feds’ pronouncement of the existence of ‘no credible threat’ surrounding the July 4th holiday was a lie (aka 'untruth') as reported by Catherine Herridge chief Intelligence Correspondent of Fox News.  Therefore such statements in the future will have about as much credibility as Hillary describing the disposition of her emails.  But the credibility we now seek is from the real moderate Muslim communities in America rising up with one strong unassailable voice to denounce not only the latest raghead, but also that interpretation of Islam that gives rise to his ilk.  And some better polling results would be much appreciated.

[17jul15 update]  This update is offered as a public service to the FBI and other federal agencies currently confounded by and busy attempting to determine the motive that Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez had for his 16jul15 attacks in Chattanooga.  While their claims of being puzzled about such things are remarkable in themselves, their mischaracterization of this radical Muslim is even more disturbing.

Let’s clear up the motive first.  Abdulazeez launched his attack to make existential the longstanding threats of international Islamic jihadists like ISIS and Al-Qaeda to demonstrate that Islam’s ability to project terror knows no bounds.  They and their indigenous adherents are already in place everywhere, and there is nowhere – especially in the very heart of the Great Satan – that they cannot strike to kill the infidel and sow fear into the hearts of those who would resist the spread of Islam as Allah has commanded.

And please don’t confuse motive with the exact nature of the relationship(s) Abdulazeez would have had with various overseas sponsors of Islamic terror.  That is a wholly separate area of investigation.  The thing to always remember is that such terrorists can arise from the midst of our moderate Muslim communities, unknown and unannounced to the best of our intelligence efforts to predict and interdict such attacks.  One-way communications from terrorist websites to resident Muslims who are psychologically and spiritually prepared is all that is necessary and sufficient to carry out, continue, and expand such attacks indefinitely.

Also, you folks seem not to know with whom you are dealing, especially those of you high up in the ranks of law enforcement and counter-terrorist agencies.  In front of cameras you sound like know-nothing politicians when you describe people like Mr Abdulazeez as being a “coward” or “cowardly”.  Given Islam’s perspective of western civilization as interpreted within their belief system, Abdulazeez was anything but a coward.  This young man, raised and educated in America, concluded on his own to sacrifice his life for his god and civilization to perform what he knew to be a limited yet very symbolic act that would unambiguously communicate the success and dedication of Islam in striking at the heart of its greatest enemy.  He knew his sacrifice would inspire thousands of like-minded Muslims who daily contemplate how best to offer their own contribution to the spread of Islam.  To those thousands, both here and worldwide, his was an act of supreme and glorious sacrifice to be admired and imitated.

(And we on our side abet and invite more such sacrifices as we writhe in our various attempts to mollify Islam, especially in America.  An example and object of such contempt to the zealous jihadists is the mayor of Seattle who is seeking ways – fasten seat belts – to facilitate the influx of Sharia law-abiding Muslims into the greater Seattle area by finding ways they can finance home purchases without having to pay the interest so loathsome to Islam’s true believers (more here).  Is this elected public official addled, or does he represent a broader sensibility of progressives working to transform America?)

[21jul15 update]  It's not clear whether the FBI peeked at the above correct answer, but today they announced that Abdulazeez's murderous rampage was indeed an act of terror.  Now you, I, and at least another 100M American's knew that within the hour of the news report.  But when government competence is considered, then we can rejoice that it took only a week for them to reach the conclusion.  And that, for some mysterious reason, then allowed the White House to fly its flag at half staff.  Go figger.

The father was a west bank Palestinian and most reviews for asylum only look at the violence in the area not if they are aligned with quasi political groups like hezbola or the brotherhood etc. who hate us. At least as an electrical engineering graduate he only used some long guns. Prayers for the families of our warriors and the police involved. Will they too be victims of ‘work place violence’ and take an act of congress to get treated like the hero’s they are.

Darn Jon, you have mentioned the The Russians are Coming more than once and I have yet to see it. That puts me out of the loop. It’s not that I worry about the Russians are coming. What concerns me is the ragheads are here. Even more so than those two previously deported illegal pieces of shit that each murdered young ladies less than 24 hours apart, including burning alive a 3 year old boy.
No, it’s the ragheads that are here now. Who let the dawgs out?? Our asshole President said this gun violence does not happen in other civilized countries. Oh really now!
Jon, here is your homework assignment. Name one civilized country on the planet from Canada to Europe to points beyond where there is a Muslim, there is not violence and gun violence perpetuated by a slime ball Muslim immigrants. Screw them and the camels they rode in on. Ragheads are the enemies of our Constitution, be they foreign or domestic.
The only ones that knows how to handle these primitive people from very primitive cultures is China. China makes them register, puts them in a designated neighborhood, keeps an eye on them 24/7. Need a permit to go to a mosque, and restricts their movements and even says how often they are permitted to go to a mosque. I am for just killing them and thus do away with the constant viligance and drained resources caused by the robust followers of the religion of body parts. But, China would probably not heed my advise. Ok, besides civil China, name one place on the planet that is better off for throwing out the welcome mat for Ali Baba and his 40 thieves.

I have a 40 year friend from Alabama. He served in Vietnam as a Marine. His momma is still going at 91 in a nice neighborhood in Birmingham. One day the woke up and a mosque was under construction two parcels away. So after a short time the mosque was completed and the cops started cruising the place as the “peaceful” Muslims were chanting “death to America” in this place of “worship”. Other incidents followed. I think BillT is on to something.

Very Interesting. I’ve never seen anything like what’s been going on since Obama became President. He was right about “change.” The not so funny part is that so many voters weren’t interested in what he meant. We are constantly shown the terrible atrocities the so called bad Muslims (of Islam) do to those not of their faith. For those of you who condemn all religion please remember that the Communist Khrushchev said if he had a choice he would choose Islam. Do you suppose that was because its totalitarian?
We’ve seen a lot of names given terrorists. Confusing, but boils down to…Al-Qa’da in Iraq (AQI), also known as the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI), the State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), and now it’s ISIS…Iraq’s Islam (Muslim)….allegedly having been at war with its Muslim brother Iran. We’ve been involved with their many problems for many years. Most recent…President Obama offered a defense deal with Iran on its nuclear program. He says it meets the national security interests of the United States and its allies. Those opposed to it say it won’t work because Iran is untrustworthy. Who would have thought infidels could imagine such a thing?
Since 2008 when Obama was elected, despite claims of Homeland Security, the Muslim population has greatly increased in America…along with undocumented illegals flooding over our southern border. HS is baloney. We’ve spent $ Billions, and sacrificed our soldiers to nations like Afghanistan, Iraq and Benghazi, Libya where our Ambassador Stevens, his Aid and two former Seals were killed. Rumors claim our government was aiding the enemy. Was it similar to what a local Vet said about what was going on in Iraq? http://www.mcguiresplace.net/Stories/Lt.%20Colonel%20Metroka%20Iraq%20Story%202013/
I wonder about Ft. Hood in 2009. Thank God there was an armed person to stop him from killing more of our soldiers. Another was the Boston Marathon. These hate American people were welcomed and helped by those they hate. The latest propaganda (?) is that our soldiers are to be disarmed. If it’s true I feel a little uneasy about this President and his administration?

What I read was “I think perhaps FDR’s strategy of putting the suspected enemy into camps may be looked at as pragmatic in the war with the Muslims”, not a call to do it. If there is widespread Muslim hostility towards Americans on American soil and the US Muslim mainstream does not finally make a loud and firm stand against it, I’ve no doubt many Americans will trade freedom for others for the illusion of safety. My Japanese-American friends, including some who were interned at Manzanar, were convinced Earl Warren and other California politicos pushed for the internment of anyone with Japanese ancestry to get their hands on large tracts of farmland in the San Fernando Valley and elsewhere for pennies on the dollar.
It would have been perfectly legal for FDR and Earl Warren to incarcerate any Japanese, German, Italian and Croatian citizens… among others that I’m probably missing. The peace loving Croats were particularly interesting during WWII, essentially Germanic Slavs, they operated death camps like other Nazis but managed to exterminate more Serbs than Jews.

    Fish LOL!
Let me see. Hmmm. A group of people claiming they are Muslim’s take a part of their religious teaching called Jihad from their holy book and go out and murder thousands, maybe millions of people. Then when confronted in the USA with their religious “Jihad” they claim freedom of religion. They also use that “Jihad” from their “holy book” to declare war on the “infidel”. So “jon” and Steve Frisch side with the enemy and declare those wishing to defeat the “jihadists” are somehow against the Constitution? The illogic of PC fools is amazing. I am sure if these “jihadists” screaming Allah Akbar (protected religious beliefs) were sawing off their heads they may understand. But Steve Frisch and “Jonb” apparently want our Marines to be unarmed and unable to protect themselves on our own soil.
