In the 11jun15 sandbox a left-leaning reader pointed out the recent speech (here) of a California conservative assemblywoman who believes that God has intervened to bring drought upon our land as a corrective to punish us for our legalized practice of infanticide and abortions.  Another similarly leaning reader weighed in with his opinion that such expressions by Republican politicians will drive away the independent and undecided voters from Republican ranks.  How curious?

Apparently Democrats do not suffer from such interpretations and utterances by their politicians.  The long record of RR is overflowing with examples of one-sided blindness by our progressive commenters who send their fabled CCC (Collectivist Cricket Corps) to respond when they are reminded of leftwing politicians who think Pacific islands will tip over if over populated on one side or the other.  These extremes are daily joined by others of their ilk proposing patently insane social and economic policies that have never worked and cannot work because they fundamentally misinterpret human nature.  Yet when these are pointed out, not only in advance but also in their aftermath, our neighbors of the socialist tinge again respond through the good auspices of their CCC.  It is as if they are absolutely blind to the impact of their own nostrums, potions, and lotions which they hawk and apply to our body politic.

In contrast, the assemblywoman gave a perfectly plausible causal explanation in the context of her belief system, a belief system the verity of which science cannot disprove no matter the level of sneerage bestowed upon it from the secular humanist Left.  It was nobelist Richard Feynman who made that strong assertion years ago (here).  However, disproving the perennial prescriptions of progressives is a pursuit readily handled by middle-schoolers not yet cognitively castrated by public education.  No matter, the progressives go forward in their pursuit of elitist governance bestowed on democratic masses as if they had a solid record of accomplishments in their public policies portfolio.  We recall that Einstein perfectly labeled such dedicated repetitions perennially bereft of anticipated results.  And once more, they send the CCC into the breach.

The sad part of this tale is that such a liberal mind is now shared by an ever larger cohort of Americans during the new ‘post-intellectual’ age (e.g. Post-intellectualism and the Decline of Democracy, D.N. Wood, 1996).  The progressive elitists have created a perfect voting class that has little knowledge of how things work and even less of the world around them.  The dilemma of such a successful strategy is that the same class of the clueless are more and more difficult to employ with each succeeding year.  Then who will be the ‘other people’ whose money socialism requires to run its brave new world?

I would put our poor’s income and amenities up against most people on the planet. I would think you all would be proud that in America there is little of the problems the billions on the planet face everyday. Our poor have three TV’s, food stamps, Section 8 grants, free legal, and we even buy their cars and insurance if they want to attend college. My goodness you libs are just fricking ingrates to the wonders of this country and the amazing benefits gained by even the “poorest” person.
Capitalism made this possible;e under the protection of our Constitution. Hell, we even have 50 million illegal aliens here and we are taking good care of them! All this and many liberals on dope that fogs there brains and makes them non productive. Thanks goodness there are still a lot of Americans willing to pick up the slack of the slackers.

My, the liberal mind speaks and I must say that the recent comments by our liberal friends with their liberal minds are rather caustic and bordering on mean spirited. Gee, like the only thing they got to throw at Conservatives is who is a bad conservative and who the baddest worse conservative really is. Apparently they think Don is a worsest conservative of the Fab 5. Sure, the rest of their usual locked in talking points are always mentioned. For those who seek a list of the usual talking points (like if they don’t constantly bring them anyway) you can find the list word for word if you read last weekend’s Hillary Reintroduction Official Campaign Kickoff Speech she read so passionately on Roosevelt Island. Or, just keep pretending you hear them.
The Liberal Mind speaks are we are bad people to The Mind. My, they must have sleep through that part in kindergarten when the teacher’s aide passed out minds. Or, the sweet teacher’s aide could have run out and the eventual libs had to go outside to the old school yard crapper and root through until they found their The Mind.

Ok, for those of us who are products of the CA public school system, I brought a visual aide to help mine the richness of the Liberal Mind.
Yo, Don, not are liberals are God haters. Probably most of the hard core extremist far left radicalprogressives are, but not all liberals, just the majority who are totally out of the mainstream and totally out of touch. You know, that 19-21% of the American population.
Opps, back to visual aides. Me thinks a new government program is in order for those recovering from liberalism past the age of 28-34. 28 for women damaged by indoctrination, 34 years old for males who haven’t manned up yet. It will take years to unlearn the toxic thought patterns in their once fertile minds. Maybe an intervention for those still in denial. Just a suggestion. And now, boys and girls and girlie men, visual aides to grasp the depth and width and height of the Liberal Cranium

We already have corporate owned slave institutions that fence in workers. They are called prisons for profits. Inmates earn about 30 cents an hour manufacturing goods for American corporations (especially defense contractors). No wonder the LE groups are hell bent on keeping the prisons full.
They have requested an additional $500M to upgrade and build new prisons despite the fact that Prop 47 has released thousands of prionsers. LE response was, “Don’t worry, we will fill the beds soon enough.”
Something to be proud about: America is Number 1 in incarcerating our fellow citizens.

PaulE 402pm – Have you now admitted to being a moral absolutist – that you know the moral boundaries with which others’ behavior should be constrained? Sounds like the stuff of Islam et al, and also locally purveyed by the FUE et al. And your use of strawmen like ‘slave labor behind barbed wire’ to pillory your opposition sounds like an act of debate desperation.
GeorgeB 859am – ACE looks like a typical response to the secular humanist domination of schools and governance. Their creed and curriculum appears very fundamentalist Christian. Couldn’t find anything definite on their teachings re creation and evolution, but wouldn’t be surprised if they believed in the spot creation of pretty much everything we see. And they definitely believe that a prescient God created a good proportion of humanity destined for eternal suffering of the worst kind. Most Christians will get tangled in their undies when they try to explain that.
In any case Mr Boardman, what was your follow-on for bringing up ACE?

All of the talk about liberalism being a “mental disorder” or a “sickness” etc. etc. that George continues to promulgate and some denizens of the peanut gallery echo, reeks with the same stench as anti-semitism in Germany during the 1930’s. The only purpose such malignant rhetoric serves is to denigrate and de-humanize the enemy (in this case fellow Americans who politically disagree instead of fellow Germans of the Jewish faith). I’m sure those with two digit intelligence quotients like Todd, who think people who sell pot to minors should be executed but corporations who poison millions should be lauded, would be the first to advocate putting liberals into re-education camps because, after all, they are sick aren’t they? Talk about a slippery slope. In Germany it ended with gas chambers. Where will it end in America? The same forces that promote hate are at work here whether one can see the forest for the trees or not.

Todd, June 17, 8:32pm. Is your Google search engine broken? I saved you the trouble of searching. Here is just one story about prison workers. This is something even the “liberal” news outlets don’t bring up because they are owned by some of the companies that benefit from this process. (GE)
Human rights organizations, as well as political and social ones, are condemning what they are calling a new form of inhumane exploitation in the United States, where they say a prison population of up to 2 million – mostly Black and Hispanic – are working for various industries for a pittance. For the tycoons who have invested in the prison industry, it has been like finding a pot of gold. They don’t have to worry about strikes or paying unemployment insurance, vacations or comp time. All of their workers are full-time, and never arrive late or are absent because of family problems; moreover, if they don’t like the pay of 25 cents an hour and refuse to work, they are locked up in isolation cells.
According to the Left Business Observer, the federal prison industry produces 100% of all military helmets, ammunition belts, bullet-proof vests, ID tags, shirts, pants, tents, bags, and canteens. Along with war supplies,
prison workers supply 98% of the entire market for equipment assembly services; 93% of paints and paintbrushes; 92% of stove assembly; 46% of body armor; 36% of home appliances; 30% of headphones/microphones/speakers; and 21% of office furniture. Airplane parts, medical supplies, and much more: prisoners are even raising seeing-eye dogs for blind people.

JoeK 1000am – I assume you’re accusing me not GeorgeB. Where did you dig up the quotes that you attribute to me?
To be clear, I have cited clinical studies that show liberals use discernibly different parts of the brain with which to reason than do conservatarians. The leap to call such differences ‘mental illness’ or ‘sickness’ is a large one and does require more sober examination. But there is no doubt that the two ideological poles reason very differently. Today eight years of RR’s almost 60,000 comments are strong testimony to that. Some examples –

“Hard Labor” is a valid sentence under the law. It’s not cruel or unusual.

Walt, there is a signifiant difference in prisoner’s working to make products that are sold and go toward repayig the cost of their incarceration in a state run system and private for-profit prisons that pocket the money. That is slave labor. Prisoners get solitary confinement for refusing to work.
And these for-profit prisons lobby for longer sentences and seek to incarcerate people for minor offenses to keep their work force intact. A Pennsylvania Judge who was receiving kickbacks from the prison complex was found guilty of sentencing poor people to prison who weren’t guilty but couldn’t afford a defense. http://www.forbes.com/sites/walterpavlo/2011/08/12/pennsylvania-judge-gets-life-sentence-for-prison-kickback-scheme/
