[As most RR readers have seen, the sandbox 'all topics welcome' forums (fora?) in these pages have been more than well received – their comment streams quickly fill with multiple topic threads discussed among multiple participants.  Recently these sandboxes have begun 'filling' more rapidly – e.g. the 1jun15 sandbox garnered over 200 comments in three days.  This has given rise to a growing concern of mine about the readability of very long comment streams containing several live threads.  Fortunately, most commenters have started using name/time tag referents to point readers to which of the preceding comments their current comment addresses.  (However, some still believe that their particular thread is being so closely followed by everyone that no such provenance pointers are needed – hubris?)

So I wonder if perhaps readability would be enhanced were RR to implement categorical sandboxes – national policy, local issues, foreign policy, climate change, science, education, … ??  While that approach MAY focus discussions and make them more readable, it would also detract from the apparently pleasant melee or potpourri of thoughts that readers now experience as they revisit the comment stream to have their interest piqued by some new comment/er.  Easiest would be not to 'fix' what seems to work, and to just open new sandboxes whenever the comment streams grow beyond a hundred or so.  Anyway, I invite a discussion and your thoughts on the matter.  gjr]

My guess is that Don shows up at about 11 am this morning claiming he was in Church 🙂

“”Pyramiding” of employment taxes is a fraudulent practice where a business withholds taxes from its employees but intentionally fails to remit them to the IRS. An often cause is a lack of profit or capital for operating costs, so the business owner uses the trust funds to pay other liabilities. The quarterly employment tax liabilities accumulate (or “pyramid”) until the employer has little hope of catching up.”

So, fraudulent practices aren’t actually fraud unless you’re brought up on federal charges? Curious. No, if you’re a cooperative shlub who commits fraud on the way down the drain, the IRS will cut a deal. THey want the money more than a trophy for the prosecution.
Stephen Frisch came here to fight. Now he’s done his ‘screw you guys, I’m going home’. Sweet. Except he’s still here. Steve, I’m sure you’ve learned your lesson and so lucky for you to be given the “Sierra Business Council” to run after running the restaurant into the ground despite your fraudulent-practice-involving-taxes-that-wasn’t-tax-fraud’because-you-weren’t-indicted problem. No problem, your for profit restaurant is different than this 501c3 non-profit. That it paid you well enough to cover your business debt to the IRS was, I’m sure, a big help.

Well, this has been quite a sandbox. I thank the commenters who have voiced their druthers on the format of this venue on RR (I also welcome “lurker” Jack Cominsky 952pm to these pages, although I agree with SteveF that lurker is too dark of countenance on the shoulders of a reader who does not comment. In any event, JackC is invited upgrade his standing to full-fledged commenter). I think, for now, we’ll keep the sandbox format as is.
Perusing the above comment stream, it appears that the conversation/s was/were somehow hijacked into more mudball matches. While that is grudgingly tolerated, it sure seems like the dialogue could be made more clear and compact without sacrificing completeness if the mudballers would just reference their past lobs with statements like ‘On (xx issue) my 942am stands.’, instead of taking the reader through the complete litany of accused transgressions one more time. Perhaps these bouts would then conclude sooner than later, and we could get back to dissecting the matters at hand and how an ideological slant on such matters is all cockeyed, instead of once again sorting through your antagonist’s morals, parentage, biography, … .
Having said that, let me again acknowledge and appreciate the attendance and enthusiasm of our left-leaning (leaned?) readers and commenters. No matter what the rightwingers here think of their opinions and observations, these are most important to make this forum something other than an echo chamber of mostly likeminded participants. In the end we remind ourselves that disagreeing with the message is not on its face disrespecting the messenger – you have to go an extra distance to do that.
With that, I draw your kind attention to a fresh sandbox and, hopefully, more focus on the issues. OK, everyone back in their corners, and come out punching above the waist 😉

I ain’t leaving here before I have one last word:
Let is be hereby understood that Todd and Don are disingenuous in their comments, and have been proven beyond any reasonable doubt to willingly lie to their fellow posters in order to advance their points, with no compunction, even when faced with direct evidence of their lies.

No punching below the waste, Dr. Rebane?? Boy, what a stick in the mud. Every party was a pooper. You know what they call a boomerang that doesn’t back? Yep, a stick in the mud.
I prefer someone hits me below the belt. Being in a Huey that was shot down from beneath, I have more hardened steel in my left gonad than the the average bear. Sets off alarms at the airport. Go ahead TSA, grape my junk. I won’t feel no pain, but you might if you squeeze too hard.
No below the belt? Darn. I was hoping some offended progressive type would take his best shot and break his friggin hairy hand trying to crack this nut. Advantage Tozer.

Speaking of Taxes Mr. Bessee, we find it rather interesting that you moved into the house of a mentally disabled woman (that she owned free and clear) and then suddenly your on title, and the next thing is that you do a cash out refinance on this home so you can pay your $200K tax bill….
Please don’t lecture us on financial responsibility, as you my good friend are not the guy that should be talking about this subject!

Don Besse sounds pretty financially smart. What is your problem? Personal animosity?
