[Well, all the liberal palaber about Common Core being just standards and not specific requirements for curricula is just so much BS as states are now beginning to find out. Climate change propaganda has been inserted as a required topic ranging from grade through middle to high school. Students will have AGW drilled into their heads without debate, much like the Catholics and Calvinists ran their religious schools. joe sounds and writes like MA. Hmmm. Well when all else fails the libs bring out the morality. Funny though how they have none themselves (joe may have some strange “proclivities”). Anything goes. Look at Bernie Sanders, their lib candidate. He is a run of the mill perv who has rape fantasies. Jeeze, he is a Bill Clinton wannabee. Elisabeth Warren is a wannabee squaw, what is that all about?
Golly joe, in all my life I was never called a scumbag to my face. Wanna meet me a call me that to my face? Naw, you are a lib chickensh**.LikeLike

Oh and there was no post by me as stated in joe smith’s post on this thread.

Losing Walter Cronkite was a bigger deal than pissing of a lot of college kids who didn’t want to get drafted for a lousy, pointless hot skirmish in the Cold War. Including me. It was middle America seeing dead and wounded GIs on the nightly news that signaled the end.
“Jon” must have been a lefty college kid at the time to have that delusion… about the same age as Frisch. It wasn’t the right wing that started that mess, the Speakers of the House were Democrats through the entire war. Beginning in 1955 and not ending until 1995, one Dem after another.LikeLike

My, Mr. Smith, that was not very friendly. I am sure Mr. Todd does not take slaves, marries 12 year olds, or slay infidels with the sword above the shoulder as per the virtues and directives found in the Muslim Good Book. I, on the otherhand, have taken a page from the Progressive Playbook and don’t to relationships. I take hostages, just like any good Libhole does when issuing commandments upon the unwashed scum they govern. No slaves, but we are blessed to be their hostages. Oh, sorry about your erectal dysfunction. My condolences to your lovely mate.
Speaking of Iran, we should follow their lead and do what they are doing. Iran sits on the 2nd or 3rd largest natural gas reserves on the planet, yet still need nuclear plants to provide electricity for its unwashed masses. Think I will go hang a banner from the bridge that reads “No fossil fuels!!”

Who would “jon””joe” vote for?? “50 shades of perv” Sanders? or the head of the Clinton crime family? Decisions,, decisions…
Then there is the “hope” of “changing” the rules of President so “O” can run for a 3RD term. A major attack on the U.S. just might do the trick. A change of administrations during a disastrous event just wouldn’t be a good idea.. “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”
No wonder not hardly a LIB is running for President. Don’t get “wood” reading this “joe”jon”.. People know that’s a LIB wet dream.LikeLike

Also, Mr. Todd, have you noticed the eerie resemblance between The 1/32 Cherokee Lizzy the Tizzy Warren and Bubba’s Janet “I haven’t found the right guy yet” Reno. No, they are not exact twins at first glance, but there is something there that I just can’t put my finger on or in. Almost like they were separated at birth. Eerie.

I read GeorgeB’s ditty this morning in the Union and it really looks like he is conflicted. Science is not settled in climate change yet he calls Republicans out as “deniers” for saying so. My goodness, half the country, and now most of Europe are saying WHOA! Maybe the computer models are not that accurate. He also tells us the vaccine scientist was exposed as a hoaxer and wonders in his piece why people may be don’t believe all those scientists. Perhaps he should subscribe to Russ Steele’s blog?
He seem to have forgotten about (if he ever knew) those emails from the “climate experts” in Britain who removed or remodeled the data showing there is no human caused “change”. Oh well.LikeLike

“Vietnam was started by libs and ended by conservatives. That is a fact Jack.” —
WRONG!!!!! Jack..
American military presence in VietNam started in 1955 under Eisenhower when the country was partitioned into north and south after the French were defeated. The idea was to have elections after 5 years and let the people vote on whether to reunite the country. When the American supported president refused to participate and backed out of the treaty the revolution started.
Oh yes.. and that “conservative” Nixon, along with ending the war, started the EPA, the consumer protection agency and title nine.. all things today’s conservatives would call liberal if not communist.LikeLike
-
No JoeK, you are wrong JACK! Eisenhower was asked by the French to help but he only sent some equipment. When the French were obliterated at Dienbienphu, there was a few years of turmoil and then Kennedy sent in the “advisers”. That escalated under LBJ (SEATO Treaty). Nixon and Kissinger got us a armistice and then the North invaded and took ober the country. Ford was a Republican an he finished our presence there in 1975. Please review our liberal history books again.

Nice try JoeK… It wasn’t Nixon’s EPA that now wants to regulate everything, right down to mud puddles.
It’s militant ECO Marxist hippie in a thousand dollar suit that wants that control.
The EPA started out good, then got highjacked. Ca. used to be the model of success for the nation. But since LIBS got their dope stained fingers on it, it’s been down hill ever since.LikeLike

Whoever Jack is, he certainly can be found just about everywhere. To multitask is an enviable trail to possess. Extreme multitaskers are an oasis in a dry parched thirsty land. Henry Kissinger possessed the quality Jack has. A true desert bloom. He would be reading 7 newspapers at a time as he was talking policy on the phone, all the while composing a document. That’s a fact, Jack. 🙂

Interesting recollections of history. I wonder why no one has yet to leap back to Korea in 1950 in this sequence of blaming presidents. Is that because that was a ‘UN war’?
BTW, Tricky did end US combat operations in 1973, and pulled our troops out of Vietnam (the usual training cadres remained). And Ford did not finish our Vietnam presence in 1975, the North Vietnamese Army did that when Saigon fell.LikeLike
-
So JoeK what is your point in the 9:35 AM?
Yes Ford was the President when Saigon fell. But that was the last of our troops in Vietnam as I recall. He finished the withdrawal begun by Nixon.
I think Truman, a democrat was Prez when Korea started right after I was born in 1950. My Dad, a Republican, loved Truman! Dad was notified he may be called up for fighting but they never took him.
And yes, Jack is now running the “Box”!LikeLike

As I see it, the Korean war isn’t over. ( and by definition) Only a cease fire agreement is still in place. We still have troops on that DMZ and a sawed off twerp looking to start a new fight. With “O”‘s history, if Kim decides to rush the boarder to the South, he would let them. We see how well he handled Putin. “O” grandstanded with “don’t you dare or else!”
Putin replied with ” Really?? well watch THIS!!” And “O” is now called “Lizard nuts” by our enemies.LikeLike

This ridiculous discussion of who started what in Vietnam makes my point better than anything. Vietnam was a chaotic mess, crippled by the changing American landscape back home- old geezers in the govt. either being paralyzed or making rash decisions, but who were actually out of touch with the massive changes taking place in our national culture and sentiment. The youth of the nation finally rising up against authority, after decades of passively following along during the War years. The young liberals who got the ball rolling to a large extent are owed your gratitude.

The Kent State tragedy was as big a catalyst and major milestone for the rude awakening of middle America. Of course seeing the dead pile up on TV was a huge visual factor as well. Like I said. When LIBS are in charge of the fight, the conflict is lost.
What is it? “political courtesy”? Don’t fight a fellow commie?
LIBS just LOVE to play the “human rights” card, but don’t have the stones to back it up.
Thanks to LIBS,, there are countless mass graves, and new ones being dug as we speak.
“O” has done such a GREAT job in the Middle East… uhhh,,,, right? “jon””joe”?LikeLike

Wow! Kent State. Well, I recollect four kids were shot because the National Guard troops were called in to regain control of the college and the troops thought someone shot at them. Yes a tragedy but not a systematic action.
“jonnie” thinks we should thank the “liberals” for alerting us all to the “liberals” running the country. OK, sure jonnie, I’ll give you some of that. Liberals eating their own while the conservatives were keeping the country together and providing the troops. Yep, sure, liberals dissing liberals.Jonnie is a great example of a liberal, befuddled by all that ganga.LikeLike

George 952 AM, I did mention Korea in my 840PM as a reason McNamara and friends kept Vietnam at a tactical simmer rather than a strategic full boil. As a hawk I knew in the ’70’s was fond of saying, if we wanted the South to win all it would have taken was an aircraft carrier or two within range of Hanoi and Haiphong, and provide the South Vietnamese with F-4 Phantom jets with the range and useful load that could have pounded the north. Would have worked great until either the Russians or Chinese intervened, and then we’d be flirting with WWIII.
The USA entered into a number of defense pacts with allies during the Cold War based on our role for a short time as the world’s only nuclear power. SEATO was but one. Big mistake. Fortunately, cool heads prevailed and the Cold War ended with a whimper, but it’s less clear what the result would have been had Khrushchev been Shia.LikeLike

Walt, you may be one of the last remaining Vietnam WarHawks still obsessing and still bitter today. Sorry to belabor this, but since you are absolutely obsessed with blaming those evil libs for our ill advised entry into a local guerrilla war of 50 years ago, what would young conservative Walter done to win that war? “Jon”,10:24, Kent State was only called murder by the folks wishing to foment discontent. The Guardsmen had the minimum training for joining the regular Army on a battlefield but were neither trained nor equipped for crowd control, and it’s clear they were scared, not in a murderous rage. There was no plan to kill students, and many students didn’t even think the guard had real bullets.
“Cold blooded murder”? Not a chance. Scared kids in uniforms shooting kids who should have been scared.LikeLike

You are actually right about Mandarin. Many any kids are taking it as a second language. Will be extremely useful in the future, because the Chinese economy and their place in the world is out of the barn whether we like it or not. Or would you rather start a War over there first?LikeLike

Gregory, alright, massacre. Massacre the accepted description for what occurred at Kent State. No one was held accountable for the real ammunition however. Fortunately that would be different today. Kent State truly changed America in how middle America looks at humans challenging authority.

No massacre jonnie, but you can keep trying. It was as Gregory has written. It really did not change America at all, many people saw it as a provocation and knew the Bill Ayers traitors were instigating a lot of these “uprisings”. Vietnam was not fought by the generals, it was fought by LBJ and McNamara and a few of their pals, all politicians. The Tet offensive was actually a great victory for the USA and South Vietnam but it was turned into a defeat by the liberal press. Remember, liberals have been the writers and the historians of most of American history. Now they feel free to trash it incessantly. You are a pawn of the liberal left. Nothing more, nothing less. A stooge if you will.

Sure Todd. All the many scholars on that subject are wrong, and you are right about Kent State. Maybe Bill O’Reilly can pen your version of the times and the war in which you fought. Of course there were provocateurs on campuses around America, no kidding, some violent, most non-violent. But combined with the restless group of college kids seeing what those politicians were doing to their friends and our nation- it was the kick in the pants America needed to make changes to the status quo, which was responsible for the quagmire of Vietnam.

Does any of our LIBS here own guns? Get ready to turn them in.
The NRA fought to let you keep them. This is where you may lose that right.
“Another rule–RIN: 1140 AA47–broadens the number of people barred from gun possession by expanding the ATF’s mental health provisions on background checks. The NRA pointed out that because most mentally ill persons pose no threat to society, the new regulations will actually become “snares [for] masses of mostly harmless individuals.”
