[Well, all the liberal palaber about Common Core being just standards and not specific requirements for curricula is just so much BS as states are now beginning to find out. Climate change propaganda has been inserted as a required topic ranging from grade through middle to high school. Students will have AGW drilled into their heads without debate, much like the Catholics and Calvinists ran their religious schools. Paul, exactly. Near silence on Rand Paul’s stand against the Patriot Act, the single largest intrusion by the Federal government in American history. Where are the anti-government voices of the right?

Jon 402pm – don’t know the whereabouts of the anti-government voices (in fact, I haven’t read any voices here that are against having a government), but I do know what a conservetarian thinks about America’s ability to project force globally. As we pull back again into our isolationist shell, and just concern ourselves with our coastal waters, we invite what is happening at great speed in Russia and China. The ‘savings’ in not being able to project globally always come home to roost at a terrible price that turns out to have been no savings at all. We will see it soon in the Far East as our Asian pivot turns into another poorly executed Obama divot. And for that reason alone, this conservetarian will be looking beyond Rand Paul.

“jonnie” we have to have a government so where are those anti’s you are talking about? Maybe at the DailyKos or “Progressives United”?
I am not to keen on taking off my shoes at the airport but if the same care is taken at the planes belly, I guess I can put up with it. Regarding the government listening in on conversations. They say they don’t unless you are a terrorist threat. Is that right? So if so, why would you be against that?
Rand Paul’s world view is just like his dad’s and I disagree with it. I am surprised that you libs who are always lecturing us on “one world”, or think globally act locally (or vice-versa), do not have the same feelings about ISIL and Islamic terroists overruninng the place. Why is that?LikeLike

Well smartass “jon”,, you tell us. With all the domestic spying and not one terrorist caught. Not even the ones who tried to shoot up a cartoon drawing event.
“They” say after the fact,, that “they were on their radar”. Yaaaa.
Your boy “O” is a paper tiger and all the bad guys know it. Even China is flexing it’s new found might, because they know “O” is nutless.
We sure showed Putin who’s boss, didn’t we?
Then of course, trading 5 terrorists for one traitor. LIBS just can’t wait to have the fighting in our own streets.LikeLike

Wow Walt that’s quite a list of nations where you want to take the fight to the bad guys. You’d open several fronts, ha? Where would you send in ground troops first? Or would you order bombing missions in multiple nations? How would you structure the inevitable draft? Come on there General Dirtmover. Talk is cheap for you War Hawks.

Good one Mr.Steele. Gov. M threw his hat into the ring today to challenge the old aging incapable of multi-tasking broad. Heck, she can’t even handle 2 e-mail accounts and wants us to vote her in as the Leader of the Free World.
Gov. M’s campaign slogan is Time For New Leadership. The Clinton campaign is pissed off cause by inference, Hillary is part of the old leadership. Wonder how much she will pay him to walk away? Ole Bubba Bil Clinton, the Man from Hope, paid Jesse Jackson a few million to drop out of sight. Jesse has his priorities, and it wasn’t no Rainbow Colilation.. He snatched the cash and skedaddled off the map.
Time for new leadership is right. It only took Obama less than 7 years to rip this country apart, a new record. That be old leadership, just like Jesse and Bill, Jet Setting Barry, and that brilliant old broad (the smartest woman in America) who flunked the Bar Exam and moved to AK. Billy got her a job sitting on the Board of Wal-Mart….
Hmmm, who called the former First Lady the smartest lady in America? Was it not former Speaker Dan R. from the bankrupt state of Illinois? Does anybody know if he is still alive, or did he die in prison? Well, his checks never stopped coming in due to his service to our country. Under him, we all got serviced, screwed, blued, dipped, and tattooed. That be old leadership. Hillary is more dank than skank.LikeLike

Really “jonney” boy.. President nutless has done a bang up job in foreign affairs.
All those “red lines” drawn in water color before the rain storm.
You think Europe and Japan would be what they are today (peace wise) if the U.S. had dragged everyone home after the surrenders of WWII? Free Europe would be in Russian hands,
and full blown Red Commie. Or even worse, what the Middle East is right now. OH JOY…
LIBS are real good at losing conflicts, and setting the world on fire.
China see “O” for what he is, and has grown a pair, and looking to land grab just like Russia.
How bout all those Russian bombers testing everyone’s air space? The last one up North, we didn’t even send planes up.
HELL! The military is even moving back into cheyenne mt. due to fears of an EMP attack.
( look into that smart guy)
“O” and Co. are too busy going after political enemies here at home. nevermind the ones out to do the U.S. harm.
That’s why LIBS are done come the next election. And the chances of a LIB getting elected President for decades to come will be slim to none. The nation is done with LIBS in general. The last three elections should give you a clue.LikeLike

I had to switch to tightly whities so my drawer would not be empty getting ready for work and kissed my boxer shorts goodbye. Now my briefs are being threatened. Maybe it was past his bedtime, but Walt showed a shaky grasp of history when he write at 10:53 PM that “LIBS are real good at losing conflicts…”
The last time I checked, Wilson (WWI) and FDR (WWII) were Democrats, while Nixon (Vietnam) was a Republican. Then there’s Bush II’s declaration of mission accomplished in Iraq in 2003. How did work out, Walt?LikeLike

George,

Walt or Todd,
I know, I know, the narrative is that Romney lost in 2012 because he the base stayed home.
OK, but can you give us ONE example of a Romney position in 2012 that was less than conservative? List the moderate positions he staked out please. Thanks.LikeLike
-
GeorgeB 1122am & Jon 1150am – Before you dun Walt’s reading of history (didn’t know he was referring to wars), let’s remember that the Vietnam mess belonged to JFK and LBJ. Nixon ran on getting our troops out of Vietnam’s civil war and did so in 1973 (Saigon fell in 1975). And Bush2 left Obama with a stable Iraq, and a military policy for keeping it stable to support a rational withdrawal plan that would not invite every raghead within 500 miles to attack Iraq. How did that work out for that master of foreign policy now in WH??

“Jon” America has unfortunately been involved in many “conflicts” some good some bad. Liberals have shown no guts in the historic record of fighting and winning very often. President Wilson was responsible for America’s entry into WW1 during the last year and half of that war. He was forced to because the Germans were sinking our ships. I applaud Wilson for doing the right thing but you will never applaud a Republican or a conservative for doing the right thing because you are the true ideologue. Tell us “Jon” if you support the “Monroe Doctrine”. Also, do you believe the “Gadsden Purchase” was a good thing for the country? I am sure there will be crickets.
Larry Wirth 12:03 PM
You are correct. The reason this comes up about Frisch and the taxpayers paying for his Red China trip (an he extolled their virtues upon return) is he told the world. Now it appears he is hiding the truth by not accounting for the trip and its expenses. He is in the “Clinton” world of non-profits it seems.LikeLike

Yes, Nixon had to throw in the towel and bring U.S. troops home in defeat, since DEM. armchair generals in the previous DEM Administration tied the troops hands.
Do some need a reminder of how that game was played? The “wizz kids” and counting bullets?
No need for guns in fighter jets because we had missiles? Then there was telling Hanoi just where we would strike next? Taking ground, just to give it back the next day. (over and over again) Just a few examples. Oh,, and the same point in time where lawyers got in on the action.
Yes,, ever since then it was down hill when LIBS ran conflicts. The ONLY time things got at least half way accomplished is when Repubs were in charge.
Them moment a LIB got in the W.H. the current conflict went to hell in a handbasket.
fast forward to “O”.(The Father of ISIS) Bush left Baghdad streets safer than Detroit’s, and look what has changed since “O” did his thing. The whole Middle East is on fire.
Every Commie empire is sabor rattling, looking to stick it to us.
Yaa.. tell me again LIBS know how to win wars. ( tucking tail and running is not winning)LikeLike
-
George you seem to forget that Bush signed an agreement to leave a rack by 2011 and Malachi demanded that that happened. Obama was only following Bushes agreement.
The U.S.–Iraq Status of Forces Agreement (official name: Agreement Between the United States of America and the Republic of Iraq On the Withdrawal of United States Forces from Iraq and the Organization of Their Activities during Their Temporary Presence in Iraq) was a status of forces agreement (SOFA) between Iraq and the United “States, signed by President George W. Bush in 2008. It established that U.S. combat forces would withdraw from Iraqi cities by June 30, 2009, and all U.S. combat forces will be completely out of Iraq by December 31, 2011.[1] The pact required criminal charges for holding prisoners over 24 hours, and required a warrant for searches of homes and buildings that were not related to combat.[1] U.S. contractors working for U.S. forces would have been subject to Iraqi criminal law, while contractors working for the State Department and other U.S. agencies would retain their immunity. If U.S. forces committed still undecided “major premeditated felonies” while off-duty and off-base, they would have been subjected to an undecided procedures laid out by a joint U.S.-Iraq committee if the U.S. certified the forces were off-duty.[2][3][1][4]”
That was pasted as best I can from my iPadLikeLike

PaulE 226pm – To claim that Bush2’s agreement with Malaki somehow tied our hands is ludicrous. Both sides knew the 2008 agreement was a political showpiece for their respective constituencies. The real decision would be made three years later, at which time Obama was in office and Maliki was already pleading that Americans not abandon Iraq completely. But it served Obama’s promises and purposes to withdraw from the middle east, which withdrawal was halted when Iraq became unstable and the situation in post-withdrawal Afghanistan promised to reprise Iraq.
In the meantime Obama was promising a ‘pivot to Asia’ which has not gone all that well given how his leadership has been assessed and advantaged by Putin, Khamenei, and Xi.LikeLike

McNamara was Kennedy & LBJ’s guy, big government ‘we’re smarter than you’ liberal. San Francisco, UC Berkeley. The one who came up with the limited engagement, throw enough American boys at the problem so the USSR (North Vietnam was a Soviet client state) would know we meant business, but not so many that China (who pasted us during the Korean War when we got too close to their border when punishing the North Koreans who had decided the weather was nicer in the South).
