[The belatedly refreshed sandbox is again open for business. We start this new load of sand with an excellent graphic commentary (filched from the 9sep14 issue of The Union) from our brother Bob that goes a long way to explaining how these beautiful foothills got that smelly purple tinge. gjr]

Wow….the valiant and intrepid jeffys of the speech police flying squad are extra vigilant these days!
http://blog.sfgate.com/49ers/2014/09/10/49ers-suspend-announcer-ted-robinson-two-games-domestic-violence-comments/
Wonder if during his suspension Ted Robinson will be available to speak at Western Gateway park?LikeLike

PC has trumped free speech. Where is that in the Constitution?

Time to go buy a copy of the paper. Gotta see why a supposed “legal” mmj grower
got busted.LikeLike

OH OH!!!!!,,, Is that “our” Brad??? The plot thickens….

Walt 830am – My sources tell me that the ‘legal’ (not!) pot grower’s nom de herbe is Gerry Fedor, who has contributed to these comment streams. Any other corroboration of that?

Maybe next time someone might take this ditch digger’s advice and stay within the law. But what the hell do I know??
I just thought it too much of a coincidence. ” naaa, it couldn’t be “one of our own..” ( One guy, two names? it’s been done way too many times. Stacking the deck if it were.)LikeLike

Well the plot really does thicken…..somebody tried to staple our own FUE with the “Fedor” nom de internet on an earlier occasion.
Still think arrests for this stuff are pretty ridiculous!LikeLike

On this day of remembrance, I draw your kind attention to a piece of good news in the 11sep14 update to ‘Silence of the Lambs’

Fish.. Did you read the story? ” the same scripts found posted at diff. grows”
That’s not a ” toe just across the line”.LikeLike
-
I didn’t Walt.
I believe here is where I differ in outlook from my Rebanes Ruminations compatriots…..I don’t think there ought to be any criminal implications at all from growing the stuff. I don’t think you should need a prescription. I think you ought to be able to grow as much as you want as long as you aren’t creating a public nuisance and annoying the neighbors. Grow it on the back patio next to the tomatoes….or pull up your lawn and grow it there….I just don’t care!
I say this as someone who doesn’t smoke lest you think I am biased in that regard.LikeLike

Biased,,, no.. Not at all. Yes, we have a difference of opinion on the “full” legalization. With that said, We are a nation of laws. “We”, have to follow those laws no matter how distasteful the one’s we “don’t like” may be.
Just because our own current administration doesn’t follow them ( IRS: We will follow the laws the best we can)doesn’t give us an excuse to follow just the ones we like.
Where I am, I have the proper clearance to shoot guns in my own back yard. I read the county law to see if I was in “compliance” before firing the first shot.
I had 15 feet to spare from the “setbacks”. You think Johnny law would give me a pass if I was 15 feet short? I don’t think so.
The same goes for the law on “high capacity” magazines. I could easily head over the hill to Reno and get my grimy paws on some. The law sucks on ice! But I follow it none the less. ( Who would know?? Right?)LikeLike

Agree with everything you just posted! Selective enforcement cheapens the law in everyones eyes!LikeLike

fish 1015am – I’m on record as agreeing with the notion to decriminalize drugs and specifically marijuana to the maximum extent possible. We already know how to handle drugs like ethanol and nicotine, and they can serve as templates or at least starting points on defining how marijuana can be grown, distributed, and consumed.
I have posted an approach to developing such a marijuana ordinance (as promised in ‘Medical Marijuana Cultivation Initiative’.

YES!! Voter ID laws back East have been reinstated. The LIBS will have to find a new way to dig up the dead.
Now when Ca. implement the same laws?LikeLike
-
Yep, Federal Appeals Court upheld WI voter ID law. Only took 3 years. Them cheeseheads gotta show proof who they are now. Wearing a Packers jersey in and of itself no longer means an out of stater can waltz right n a pull the lever. Bet them union bosses are fit to be tied.

Hey…..! It’s time I came clean……the reason I post as “fish”…..because to not would spoil my career in drag!

The poster looks like a Hoot Gibson era movie poster with helicopters and tanks photoshopped in. Ole Clive must have watched way to many John Wayne westerns growing up.

Uh jeff….you might want to let JoKe know that the poster is a spoof and Mr. Bundy didn’t create it. Cracked.com and all…..be gentle with him….he’s a little slow!LikeLike

Ooooh! jeffy porn! (fortunately jeffy isn’t starring….rather it’s something that “The Other Conscience of the Sierra Foothills” is likely to find “stimulating”). Have at it jeffy!

The Sacbee ended comments a LONG time ago. Except by invite only. Well,, no one gets an invitation. If comments were up and running, you can bet the LIBS would get their hat handed to them. ( that’s why comments have ended. LIBS lost the war of words hands down) The same goes with most LIB rags around the state.
As the bird cage liner says, he with the most bucks wins doesn’t play out anymore.
Uh,, how did that work out for “big bucks” Bloomberg in Colorado?
LIBS play to the low info voter. But people ARE wising up. Even needle bending LIBS are pulling the shades over their political lean.. They have given up the big “D” in favor of the more pleasing “I”.. In my world that called a ” DuPont overhaul” ( New paint over the rusted, dirty crap can)
A little history. Democrat turned to Liberal, Liberal the went to Progressive. Now all those are associated with failure. Now off to give “independent” a bad name.LikeLike
