So FUE, tell us all here. Why were you booted from the Ubion? We have heard you were quite a jerk with the locals and there were a lot of complaints about you. Is that the case? Your tenure there was pretty short. Was it your attitude about denigrating the locals?
Also, CABPRO is now 21 years old and still going. Frustrating libs like you on a daily basis. O am very proud they are. Yell us FUE, what special things have you created that are helping the human race do better? Inquiring minds really don’t care about you, but hey, eht the heck You and Reinette can raise worms. LOL!

Since I seem to be the cause de jour of the current foothills report/RR scuffle I will add this to the cauldron. The personal attacks, issues, and grudges are better suited for an elementary school playground than blogs that attempt to hold discussions about important and/or relevant/interesting topics. I made reference a few days ago to sharks on a feeding frenzy and Fish ask for more specific information.. The last series of posts on the SoJ thread is a classic example. The longer it goes on the more vicious it gets, and mostly about nothing of particular importance or significance. It just shows how divided our country has been manipulated into becoming. One can only hope the division finds a way to heal because the path we are currently on leads to disaster and no viable solutions ever come from drawing lines in the sand and digging in. Our system is designed to create compromise which doesn’t really work.. it is a half-assed approach. We need consensus solutions to solve our problems and that can’t happen when the participants are separated by the Grand Canyon. Having said that, the feeding frenzies are pretty funny to read. great entertainment.

JoeK 535pm – all too true Joe as we have been observing since RR’s launch. However, there is no “scuffle” between RR and any other blog, unless, of course, it takes one to scuffle. I cannot say that about other blogs and RR readers who are free to visit any sites they choose and express their views when commenting here.

Agree with Joe Koyote. There are much better things to chat about that one solitary man. I won’t give him the power. He knows he can pop over here, kick the hornet’s nest and get the last laugh. True to form. At least he is consistent.
I once became self employed cause no one would hire me in a particular neck of the woods. Slim pickins anyhow. Nothing wrong with taking control of one’s life. See, I can be nice.
If you guys would stop popping over to Mr. Pelline’s blog and run back here to tell Mommie and Daddy all the nasty things said about us, then there would be no problem. We are turning into a bunch of old hens in a gossip fest. Yes, I will still refer to the unmentioned soul as Fattis Maxius because if one is going to play the Emperor, then the title fits.
To each his own. Blogging about issues does or does not have to be competitive sport, but it sure is fun when the gloves come off and it gets personal….for awhile. Think I am done kicking the dead horse.

You cannot rile me. What the community wants to know is why as some say, you were fired for cause from the paper. What did you do? Would what you did, if you did it, a arrestable offense? Please fess up an let it out. We all know you want us to know the truth. You were given a very trusted place in the community FUE and I am surprised that you try and obfuscate it. The Editor of our newspaper is an important and trusted position. I personally have never been fired from a trusted position. Can you tell now and release your guilt? What a hoot!!

Shoot howdy, that is a long long long list. Interesting names. A lot of folks falling behind. Saw a Titman on the list….do not know the person, but I can only imagine he had a rough time in 2nd and 3rd grades.
Filing bankruptcy or falling behind happens to a lot better people than I. Honest Abe comes to mind and was it Hoover that died a pauper? Mark Twain had to go on his speaking tour to cover his debts just to make some dough ASAP cause he was insolvent. Not a criminal act. Heck, even Bubba and Mrs. Rodham left the Oval Office penniless (according to her recent truthful statements)and unable to pay their massive debt incurred for legal fees and Willy getting disbarred from the Arkansas State Bar and all. They were broke and unable to pay their bills. That is probably why Mrs. Rodman took the furniture and some dishes and even tried to take the drapes before she got caught. The drapes stayed with claw marks on them.
Ok, who has the biggest toys and abode? There are some things money can’t buy, like character and a good reputation. The aforementioned traits are worth more than gold. And if one is really really fortunate, he will have one, maybe 2 good real close friends in life, not just acquaintances. Seem to recall someone was quoted recently saying “what you sow is what you reap.”
I still owe my Dad 300 clams, but he passed away so I am in debt forever and ever, Amen.

Welcome Mr. Koyote. You really know how to hurt a guy. Comparing Fattis Maximus’s rants about his former employer who fired his sorry gluteus maximus to us clamoring about Benghazi is like telling a comedian he ain’t funny. Heard his new boss is a Class A anal cavity. Self employed now, is he not?
Don’t forget to take yer blood thinners. I will be taking mine so we have a level playing field.
Enjoyed Ms. Patty’s link. We are a Republic. Our founders knew of the whims and passing passions of the majority. Suppose that is why each state, no matter how small and rural (sparsely populated) has 2 Senators. Nice civics review.
A new state would be an long strenuous uphill battle as Dr. Rebane overtly conceded. Just glance towards Puerto Rico.
I for one will not be the first to darken the new sandbox. Just like being sociably late for a party.

Do you always have such a tough time sticking to the issues at hand? Why don’t all you hysterical/ historical folks let the majority of the public decide this issue!

Maybe you should give this blog a rest. I think you’d be happier.
Perhaps someone can point out the numbers showing increased economic activity in the area due to Ms. Senum’s efforts, or is just being seen doing something as important as actually getting something of actual value done? Her lifestyle work is very nice, but you can’t pay retiring city employees their pensions on the cash generated by the Farmer’s Markets, and the oversized dog houses for the homeless have not been a big hit.

Alright, 3 minutes are over. Carry on.
Even talk about the State Of George Jefferson is because rural counties are not be listened to, their concerns not addressed, nor even taken half way seriously. They act like we are the senile Grandpa sitting at the dinner table who is to be politely acknowledged for amusement’s sake but never taken seriously.
It is not just a CA or Colorada thing. Read blogs from Illinois and its the same thing. The Twin cities, Chicago, Denver, Sackofpotatoes are dirty words. No love for Capital Cities. Majority rules and all that stuff. If Jerry Brown and the state legislatures from the urban jungles wanted to build a bridge all the way to Japan, we have NO say.

    Todd,
According to public records, you own “We the people” of Nevada County more than $3,600. When will you pay up? It’s time for the County to clamp down on this. All told, we could use the money.
Many thanks in advance for your check,

So FUE, why were you booted from the Union as we have heard? What was the reason. Should women and children be afraid? Too funny.

    The EPA and the economy:
“EPA is recklessly rushing ahead,” said Texas Republican Rep. Lamar Smith. “In this proposal, the EPA disregarded the law requiring independent scientific review; silenced its scientific advisors; denied review of carbon storage science; and adopted an energy policy that ignores technical and practical realities.”
“The NSPS fundamentally obscures the state of technology and rejects sound energy policy. In so doing, the EPA displays a striking disregard for the law and scientific integrity, while jeopardizing our nation’s future,” Smith said.

But most telling to me was the 9-0 decision that the Senate is on recess when they say they are on recesses, not another branch of government, aka, Obama. Surprising is the most liberal judges on the court wrote the opinion in a scathing tone.

Yes. 5-4 ruling and the Supreme Court keeps protecting liberty as the lawless regime keeps attempting to take away liberty. I am in a good mood today…sitting by the pool and reading. With love, Barry from Orlando, Florida.

That SCOTUS is beginning to acknowledge Obama’s overreach is already a victory as this president has acted like a central American tinpot to the fawning approval of his base. I think that given its make up SCOTUS will have closer splits as it rules on issues involving specific legislation that extends the scope and reach of government in general. This as opposed to adjudicating contentions between the branches. I am looking forward to the House suit against the president.
Meanwhile, Obama continues to endear himself to us by loudly repeating the lie that Repubs in Congress are the reason for gridlock when ol’ Harry has not even brought to the floor of the Senate over 200 bills that the House has sent it. (And no lamestream outlet, including local ones, make any mention of that as the pillory conservatives.) I guess by liberal standards, gridlock only works one way.

Even in elections all one needs is 50% plus one to change the direction. Anyone who claims a 5-4 is somehow diminimis is a screwball. As was said, a 5-4 is the same as a 100% decision.

One thing I did learn about these decisions though. When the SCOTUS ruled that the “wetlands” wholly within a state were not subject to federal 404 permits because there was no “navigable waters” crossing interstate borders, the bureaucracies still found ways around the decision. They are paid big money to sit at desks and come up with all this crap. We need to reign that crap in.
Regarding the Kennedy opinion on this “rule” by Sebelius. I have always discussed and encouraged the legislatures to pass complete bills so there will be no interpretation and rules passed by the regulators without a vote and more importantly, understanding, of the laws passed. Kennedy made some sort of jab at the regulators on this.

A 5-4 ruling along ideological lines is not anymore a “mandate” than a close vote in an election. The four voices still exist in the debate — and in the public’s mind. It is an ongoing dialogue. Many people had thought the vote would be “unanimous.”
Having said that, if the argument is truly “religious liberty,” then it is acceptable. How can you argue with that? On the other hand, there is the more pragmatic issue of companies that have to manage their health costs.
Either way, it would be incorrect to draw any broad conclusion about government “overreach,” except for rigid ideologues.
As the NYT reports: “The companies said they had no objection to other forms of contraception, including condoms, diaphragms, sponges, several kinds of birth control pills and sterilization surgery.
The Obama administration said it did not question the sincerity of the companies’ beliefs, and it has offered exemptions to other groups on such grounds.”
So in fact, both sides are open to compromise.

It is only incorrect in your narrow liberal view. Over that past week, the Supreme Court has rebuked both Obama and liberal ideology. That must really bother you. Back to the sun…

No, it doesn’t bother me, because my view is “middle of the road.” The Supreme Court also upheld same-sex marriage. It is a mixed bag. These Supreme Court rulings are about American culture; I don’t keep score as if it was a football game. That’s too simplistic. Hope you’re enjoying the humidity of Northern Florida in summertime; it’s gorgeous at the Lake.

That over half the country and prestigious publications like The Economist and WSJ believing that there is rampant overreach by our governments – the federal and most states, especially California – will make them “rigid ideologues” is more of a commentary on the evident ideology of the commentator than what is happening in the real world.

Walt, your language is colorful but you obviously have not read today’s ruling and do not understand the company’s position. “As the NYT reports: “The companies said they had no objection to other forms of contraception, including condoms, diaphragms, sponges, several kinds of birth control pills and sterilization surgery.”

The SCOTUS remanded the homosexual issues back to the states. The did not rule it one way pr the other I believe.
Since the FUE exhibits in its finest form, partisan divide, it is fruitless to debate him. But you can all try. I simply see the 5-4 victory as a mandate of 100% regarding the laws decided. Any other view is meaningless.
The HobbyLobby decision was a victory for women and a defeat for the femi-nazis. Stay at home, true American values women are the victors since they are not going to be forced by the “gun” of government to pay for others abortions.

For a lawyer, you depend a lot on hyperbole. But it doesn’t resonate with intelligent people. Maybe you’ve become too caught up in tea party talking points. Citing the WSJ, the bastion of hard right conservative views on its Op-Ed page, to prove a point about “government overreach” is not compelling. BTW, I rarely cite the Daily Kos if ever on my blog.
    Todd,
