The 2011 May Day celebrations in Los Angeles were not covered as thoroughly by the lamestream as one might wish.  Our progressive cadres continue to lay a thick smokescreen on the notion that today’s labor movement, led by public service unions, have again picked up the theme of a new communist revolution.  Moreover, they want you to know it and join them.  Please file this in your Great Divide folder.  (Click to enlarge image.)

Ummm…yeah. We know where the left (and their leader) is headed.
“I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody” – Obama
What I cannot believe is that people do not look to the past more than five years. This socialist movement has been tried countless times and failed miserably. Even Europe is bailing on the socialist model.
    Is it 2012 yet?

With any luck we’ll see a lot more people in the streets demanding a “New Deal 2.0”
It worked before and hopefully it’ll work again!

Only Paul and George would ‘get’ my (Freudian) use of moral/morale from an earlier discussion.

Preview of the Democrat Convention? Spain’s Socialist Party took their worse beating in history over the weekend. Lost 13 out of 13 seats in local elections, and got slaughtered by 2 million votes in Madrid. Keep on marching.

Mike thinks the New Deal worked? On what basis? It “worked” year after year for a decade. And then we had a God-awful war. Sorry Mike- I don’t want what you want. The New Deal meant more concentration of money in private hands – there were more millionaires in the depression than in the roaring twenties.

Steve F. probably got it right. It is the same old Right Republicans with a libertarian edge that will be dulled once they nominate Romney for Pres. Repubs are aleady jumping ship on the Ryan budget and may lose tomorrow night in the special Rep election in New York that was considered a sure thing a couple of months ago. Either way it will be real close and will start a rush to the middle.
The Newt probably called it right last week on Medicare but he sure got his butt spanked and now wants to be a good boy. It’s amazing how the Republicans are consuming themselves. The Newt was a brilliant but flawed politician who paired up well with Clinton and engineered the only balanced budgets in modern times. Now he’s tossed out like dead flowers right at the time they need someone with his smarts at least as a senior adviser from someone whose been there.

It’s really a shame, how so many so-called of today’s conservatives, take advantage of everything that working class has fought for, only to turn around and crap on them and their memory.
Newt got in trouble for pulling away the curtain and calling the Ryan budget for what it is: “Right wing social engineering”
It’s the regressive version of Darwinism aka, Survival of the fittest inherited bankroll and stock portfolio

Lee will be the reason if NY 26 is lost. Not issues. Seems people are still conservative about pervs. Too bad, Lee won by 48% last time and it is a 6% plus R district. Newt broke the 11th Commandment and he has done too many commercials with Pelosi and other nuts from the left. We will see if people hpld it against him. Romney can raise the money and hold his own in debate. I vote for him in the California primary. He would be a huge improvement over Obama and any republican will have a Senate and House.

If the Tea People do support Newt then the mask is off on them as well. One look at Newt’s record and it is clear he is an inside the beltway big government Republican who knows how to talk little government but supported every major change that got us into the mess we are in.

Politics is war without bloodshed. Newt or any other Republican is still much better then Obama. Reality sometimes forces a vote while holding one’s nose.

This confirms what I’ve said all along, the Tea Party is just the Same Old Party with a different logo.
    Todd,
This is what the Christian Science Monitor says about todays election in NY
“The plot has thickened going into Tuesday’s special election in a western New York congressional district, where polls show the Democratic candidate has surged ahead of the former GOP front-runner, amid a fierce contest centered mainly on the future of Medicare”

OK I get it Former Rep Chris Lee who was a bad boy and resigned, and you claim he has soured the Repubs who in turn won’t vote for Jane Corwin. It’s hard to keep up with all the nasties in the Republican flock. He resigned in Feb I believe after winning huge in Nov.. Interesting theory but doesn’t seem to be a factor even in the Christian Science Monitor which is as unbiased a source as you can find. . There is some TP guy sucking Repub votes that may be a factor but that’s what happens when you have an undisciplined movement.
Also Bloomberg mentions nothing about nasty boy Lee causing the decline.
“Democrat Kathy Hochul led Republican Jane Corwin by 4 percentage points in the latest Siena College poll before today’s special election for a U.S. House seat in western New York testing the impact of a national debate over containing the cost of Medicare.”

Former Congressman Chris Lee (R) who held the seat and resigned in disgrace after tweeting his availability with his shirt off. His resignation led to this special election.
But I agree, Lee who! I don’t think one mans stupidity could lead to losing this seat in punishment in a district that is so clearly Republican. This is all about Paul Ryan and his radical solution to our budget deficit.

It turns out 47-43 with 9 going to Davis in NY 26. That will be a short term victory and return to a R in 2012. No big deal.
