After a brief snowfall, power went out at 1645.  What else would you expect?  I was the first one to call PG&E, and the lady on the other end with a straight face told me that power would be restored at 1930 “subject to change”.  Right.  Happy weekend.

[update]  As I have informed you in times past dear reader, PG&E is totally unreliable about things electric and their repair.  Power was restored promptly at 1830, which I’m sure was as much of a surprise to them as it was to me.

PG&E learned from the airlines. When you are on board an aircraft the pilot tells you “we” have a mechanical problem that will be fixed in a few minutes. An hour later they tell us we can deplane and reboard for departure in 2 hours. When that two hours is up they cancel the flight. The cancellation is announced just after the same airlines’ most recent flight departed for the same destination.

Who ordered this crap? I spent most of Friday preparing for floods, and instead they give us more of this white stuff. Oh well, put away the muck rake and dig out the snow shovel.
