Russ Steele, pre-eminent Nevada County blogger and author of NC Media Watch , was prominently featured in a NYT article about the impact of social media on blogging. Russ, who has been an inspiration to many of us lesser lights in Nevada County, spoke for those of us who have not chosen to use Facebook or Twitter when he characterized blogs as the internet medium for more considered and expanded presentation of ideas and commentary. Of the more abbreviated versions of such communication media, Russ said he is not interested in telling people whenever he goes to the grocery store. I’ll add an Amen to that.
