An RR reader sent a little notice from Australia.  It seems that there are folks down under who are also getting a little tired of the country’s recent leftward swings.  Having had no one dump tea into one of their harbors, they have labeled their version the TEA Party movement for ‘taxed enough already’.  Read more about it here in The Australian.

Who’d a thought that this homegrown awakening against government corruption had legs.  Maybe the movement will go viral across the world, and people all over will start looking at their governments through new eyes, and maybe … .  Well I can dream, can’t I?

Actually, the big news today is the announcement of Jon Stewart’s “Rally to Restore Sanity” in Washington on October 3o. Jon even offered a few examples of signage for the event on The Daily Show last night. “I disagree with you, but I’m pretty sure you’re not Hitler” “I’m not afraid of socialists/ immigrants/ gays/ but I am kinda scared of spiders”
Time and time again, it has been Stewart and Colbert who put all the blathering coming from the right and left into perspective. If it weren’t for my family obligations, I’d throw a mattress in the back of my pick up and point it east today.

Adding that to the 10 October rally that progressives have planned in the Mall, it looks like Beck has started something. Everyone figures if that yehoo can do it so can I. Is this a great country or what?

It’s no wonder the politicians in DC are blind to the sorry state of the economy in the rest of the country.. Washington must be flush with cash from all the tourists.

I have heard reports that employment is up in the region due to government hiring and in an audit of stimulus money, DC got three to four times the average by states. Obama is keeping the potential pitch fork carriers happy.
Los Angeles city controller found that the city created only 55 jobs after receiving $111 million. Let see, that was about $2 million per job. I wonder what the cost per job is in DC?
