It’s always good to see and attempt to understand how the local left views the world and, more importantly, things around our neck of the woods.  This is part and parcel of the RR policy to bring you news from across no-man’s land untrammeled by my views.  Here is the June newsletter of the Nevada County Democrats with an extracted graphic to whet your curiosity shown below.  Now one might ask why the county Republicans can’t get their act together and produce a fine pdf like our Democrat neighbors.

In his weekly column Jeff Ackerman has some thoughts on immigration that will not win over any Democrats. Taking a Stand on Immigation will only lead to more howling for his early retirement as the Union’s Publisher. Mark my words.

The democrats want more voters and Arizona is getting in their way. The democrat newsletter is actually well done (of course they are wrong on the issues). When I was the Chairman of the NCRCC during 1995-99, I bought a computer for the Committee and did a small newsletter. I would hope the NCRCC would start one again. When you read the democrat words, you can see why they are going to lose in November. They are so nasty and hateful. The TPP are positive and hopeful and the voters will see the difference and go for conservative hope and change over the negativity of the liberals.

Thanks for the heads up and link Russ (you get online way before I do). I left my comment on JeffA’s column and urge other readers to also leave their thoughts. I think you’re spot on about the howling though, just look at the jaundiced poster above. I believe this all fuels the Great Divide debate.
Todd, how would you advise today’s RCC on becoming more proactive in letting their voices be heard? Are they worth listening to? Are the TPPers and CABPRO the remaining member organizations promoting conservative thought and ideas?

George, I think the NCRCC is worth listening to,there are many really good people who put a lot of time and effort in who have very good intentions. I do however agree with you that the messaging needs to improve and how they get the messages out. I know their new website and email messaging system will be up and running this week and hopefully we will see a nice newsletter coming out soon. I also know that the NCRCC is very supportive of CABPRO and the TPP movement which is really what we need, more unity and working together. Suggestions are always helpful and are welcome.

Maybe Kim and someone with the know from Tom’s and Dan’s campaigns can help put together a relevant NCRCC. CABPRO is really good and the TPP as well. However, the NCRCC is the elected reps for republicans and it needs to be made into a respected voice of the Republicans. Precinct organization was what I promoted and we were pretty successful. Voter registration has been neglected too.

My intent here is not to disparage the NCRCC but to highlight their recent silence in the county’s political debates. Their members seem to mostly talk among themselves and not realize in what forums today’s ideas and issues are discussed. The independent voter is critical to a Republican success in November. These voters are only reached by blogs such as NCMW, TPP, CABPRO, RR, and now Inside NC Politics. RCC voices should be heard in these forums. As a NCRCC member, you are an exception Kim.

I hope that the dems step up and support the values of the TPP. I am sure that there are dems who also believe in fiscal responsibility? capitalism? the constitution? One of the best attributes of the TPP is that they stay out of social issues (abortion, etc). The NCRCC must re-define what it is to be republican….point out the enormous difference between the Bush ‘republican’ policies and a McClintock republican. It was Bush’s spending, anti-liberty patriot act, bailouts, wars that drove many to the TPP, decline to state, libertarian and independent camps.

Don’t read the democratic smut on a full stomach… its not wonder no one joined them at the parade!
“Jerry Brown must defeat yet another business person buying
their way into office thinking that running a state has some resemblance to running a business.”
“If we truly want to get rid of the majority of the future deficit, we must end the Bush tax cuts”
“We need to get the word out and to defeat McClintock, Logue and their big oil providers.” no proof what to ever. They forgot that Goldman Sachs was the largest corporate donor to BuckFarack.
I can only imagine this discussion “We will talk further about how
the oil well leak is symbolic of what is wrong in this country.”
“Tom McClintock Defends British Petroleum!”- WITH ZERO FACTS TO BACK UP SUCH A CLAIM.
“The Deficit and Reality” piece is void of reality. With no mention of the healthcare bill, stimulus package, budgets which were Obama’s doing… Obama is given ZERO accountability for the deficit… it’s all Bush’s fault (still).

I laughed at that one too, I don’t think Jerry has ever had a job outside CA government has he??

I agree with you George, the NCRCC needs some revamping and reaching out to independant voters in new ways and the ways that work effectively such as blogs and other social media.
I also agree with Todd that the registration drive and precinct organization need major help.
The good news is that we have a good team of new and enthusiastic members who are willing to do the work that needs to be done, with our new website and email system and hopefuly better messaging.

The local left believes that in this post I am ‘poking fun’ at Dems. Can someone with a greater grasp than mine tell us what in this post justifies that assessment, except possibly the content of the Dems newsletter itself over which I have no control? Until then one is forced to lay that report up to the poor reading and/or reasoning skills of the writer.
