NCARRA100528

Looking at the above chart should make all of us, conservatives and progressives, feel proud that we in Nevada County are not contributing much to the national debt burden.  In a year and half, we have only been given a skosh more than $1.5M of the American Redistribution and Re-election Act money.  You remember that supercritical ARRA stimulus the one if it didn’t stimulate the country right then and there, over that particular weekend, well hell, we’d all be up a creek without a paddle.  Now more than a year later, it turns out that the Chief Community Organizer was just joshin’.

But wait a minute.  In the meanwhile he and his honorables in Congress have managed to do a lot of other spending to keep the country in crisis.  The latest coming down the tube is “The American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act” – no I’m not kidding.  This is “a tax-hiking, spending-exploding, job-killing, deficit-hiking wonder”, and a piece of pure unadulterated crap, most certainly not suitable for my septic tank.  But it doesn’t matter when most of the voters keeping those dufuses in office can’t read, and the other half don’t care.  We get what we deserve.

[update]  Apropos to all this is an email from an RR reader that delves into our deeper problem.  It’s not important whether the message really came from the Czech Republic or not because many people in other lands have the identical sentiment and concerns about America’s ability to maintain a direction that continues to benefit the world.  That message is presented as received.

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.

The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America.  Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.

The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.”

    Total bullhockey and deliberate misinformation.
Here are the numbers from the state web site and your readers can read it for themselves:

George, at what point do you take responsabilty for lying to your readers?

There is one simple fact here: George shows $6,000,000 awarded and more than $38,000,000 has been awarded, not counting any of the funding awarded
on a regional level that Nevada County is sharing the benefit of, for example the State Energy Program residential energy efficiency retrofit program that
was recently awarded for more than $16M.

The source for these numbers is Nevada County which publishes its ARRA funding summary continuously on the start page of its website.

Pretty heavy words from Mr Frisch who should be calling his Supervisor instead.

Hey you are the one using false data, which has been pointed out to you several times, and using data you know is inaccurate to pontificate about President Obama and the effectiveness of ARAA. If you know a source is wrong, and you repeat it as fact, you are just as guilty as the one spreading the false information. Its the definition of propaganda buddy. Strong words–where is your responsibility for fact checking the crap you spread around on your readers?

Frisch’s link states “This representation does not satisfy federal reporting requirements and is not the state’s official, comprehensive reporting mechanism for Recovery Act funding.” I found and continue to find updated info here (which matches Rebane’s #s): http://new.mynevadacounty.com/whatsnews/index.cfm?ccs=154&cs=4161
Frisch is obviously delusional as a result of the kool-aid.

    Thank you Sarah.
SteveF, you may have posted your last nasty on RR, this is not another repository for your vitriol. You’re more than welcome to have civil disagreements with the commentaries posted here.
