George Rebane

NCARRA100416

If Congress does nothing more, we have a long list of added taxes, fees, etc drizzling down on us over the next few years.  Congressman John Flemming MD, (R, LA) has summarized them nicely on his website.  In case the Congressman’s home page changes, I have made a one page pdf of the data Download MoreTaxesEtc.  H/T to a regular a RR reader for digging this out for us.

But George, the anointed one promised there would be no tax increases for those earning $250,000 per year.

Yeah, and it worked with about 52% of the ‘change and hope uber alles’ crowd.

Your stimulus figures are incomplete, a problem that has been pointed out to you in the past, yet you continue to post the numbers.
I have a question for you, if you think government is totally incompetent, why do you trust their numbers of stimulus funding?

Steven, the irony of your previous comment/question to George encapsulates your ideology very well.

Agreeing with Mikey and using this as an illustration of our totally different logics, your simplistic characterizations (“… totally incompetent …”) of the other party makes it very difficult to find common ground. In this case a rejoinder to your accusation that my stimulus figures are incomplete would be – if you do trust the government, why don’t you trust the government published figures that I use to construct my of Nevada County ARRA funding?

I never said I trusted the government. I trust some things the government does, but not all. You, on the other hand, are clearly on record saying you don’t trust the government, and don’t trust the government figures on the stimulus.
You have no logic, you just want to bitch.

George, how do you put up with the partisan attacks with their constant closed-minded refrains? It seems too many of us predetermine some desired truth or position then look for supportive “evidence”. I blame the party system for that, but suspect that even w/o political parties and the automatic divide they create free men would still squabble over everything. We won’t have these debates when government is powerful enough to ban them, however. Your detractors might once look for some common ground instead of their automatic retaliatory opposition. I suspect that is not their objective and I find their predictable sniping tedious and boring. Perhaps they could offer some reasoned ideas of their own. Good luck with that.

On the record: “I, Michael ‘Mikey’ McDaniel DO NOT TRUST THE GOVERNMENT. Furthermore, I question the intelligence of anyone who does.

If it need be said one more time, I am on record as not trusting the government, any government. I believe that such distrust is one of the first duties of an educated free citizen, or taking the more diplomatic Reagan obverse, ‘trust but verify’. The gimlet eye is an indispensible lens for preserving liberty.
Bob, I put up with these comment threads (save the ad hominem crap) because they do focus on and exercise the ongoing great national debate, and in the process shine a light on the minds that hold such various beliefs so that the reader can come to his own conclusions. And it appears that our progressive friends find this forum more than adequate from which to launch their own extended thrusts and parries to an educated, influential, and growing readership.

Democrats come to the aid of Orange County republican leaders whose congressman won’t represent their interests in Washington, rings a bell doesn’t it?

High taxes are one of the problems that most countries face. Government should do something to lower it for its people.
