Dixie (of KNCO fame) is announcing the first communitywide election nite party at the Miners Foundry. Details on Dixie Fix (but careful not to trip over JeffP’s lower lip which seems to be sticking out a little in the comments). This event, inviting citizens of all political stripe, sounds like a social experiment not to miss, especially since it will allow participants to imbibe various ethanol based concoctions. I’m not sure that having glass bottles handy is a good idea when the returns get as tight as some of the celebrants. If all ends in bonhomie, then the party should make national news. Hell, it should make national news in any event.
[29oct08 update – I was sorry to see that Dixie has had it with JeffP’s comments on her blog, and now his priceless contribution is gone forever. As witnessed by their written trail, I have found that certain people are their own best critics. Therefore their own words should be saved as visible monuments to their character and upbringing.]
[4nov08 update – Was puzzled by the sudden absence of our beloved Onion from the list of sponsors tonight, especially after they muscled(?) on and announced their sponsorship in the newspaper. Pascale at Yubanet sent me the following in an email, “Just looked over the comment log and saw your question. Yes, it is my understanding that The Union will not participate. I don’t know why or when they withdrew. Nevertheless, Grass Valley Printers, Miners Foundry, KVMR, KNCO and YubaNet remain sponsors of the non-partisan event.”]
